Yes Arthur's thick as a cornmaze in the middle of September but if you look at his expression just before he punches him in the arm, you can see that he's actually trying to be nice. He doesn't know how to be anything other than a knight so when he wasnts to comfort his friend, he resorts to that. It's actually kind of sweet.

@KayxXLmao It show Arthur is learning. =) and he did notice something was bothering Merlin when they were looking for Balinor. He asked him that night at the Inn, but Merlin evaded the question. It's kind of sad that Arthur was the one who killed the only girl Merlin has ever loved... though in his defense, she WAS an angry flying panther at the time. =P

Panting Merlin. Arthur leading. Arthur's lance in the hole placed strategically in Merlin's back side as he's lying on the ground, face down. Arthur complaining that Merlin's not taking an active a role as he would like.

And the "Either you tell me or we go back to the lance and hoops" sounds vaguely like some medieval slang term for... well.
