is... that... a... grizzy bear's Chris Taylor!!!!!!! im melting with love! and holy smoke Solange too!!! it's too early in the morn to scream with joy, im flabbergasted !!
why would someone dislike this video, these people need help and everyone should be looking out for them and helping them out, especially the really powerful and successful countries.
We are always told of all the problems in the world but it's great to see a few amazing people do their best in helping to solve the problems. I hope that there are more people out there with good hearts who will help to fight for those people who are unable to fight for themselves. If only we didn't have so many selfish people (polititians and alike) in the world.
......I really have no idea why they had to go ahead and call this video "kenya". Kenya is the most developed country in Eastern, and Central Africa,& while Kenya has its economic problems, MY country is one of the most beautifull ones I've ever seen.
I;m watching this and at this time I am sponsoring a girl from Zambia. I also have a good friend who's Ugandan. Africa ROCKS! I totally support the continent ;)
Why is this called "Kenya" and not...say..."Water"? Kenya, as you can see from this beautiful video, is a lot more than unsafe water. It's about resilient people. It's about stunning beauty. It's about revering the elderly, caring for other people, and educating children. People struggle day in and day out (as Mr. Obel points out), especially in urban slums like Kibera. But let's not confuse that struggle with who they are AS PEOPLE.
Let's also not suggest that "lyrics could be a problem." I bet Mr. Obel might have something to say. I bet the kids at the schools have things to say. Why not bring their words to us? Why not write a song with those kids, who know seem to know about washing hands and all that good stuff?
We need to stop seeing "Africa" or "Kenya" as a place only of suffering that makes us feel good when we donate. We need to empower people.
Well, at present I'm putting four kids through school -- they're in grades 3, 5, 9, and grade 12 in South Africa. I've also mentored graduate students in public health in South Africa, and I work with young people here in the States to design and implement community development projects...I'll be going across this summer to do more of that work. And, I'm working on an article with one of my peers in SA about the changing roles of women in a rural part of SA.She'll be co-author.
About ten years ago I wrote a few paragraphs about what I want to do in Africa and I threw it out into the web somewhere I would call 'over Africa'. Next thing I knew I had begun friendships with at least three people, two from Accra Ghana and one from Harare Zimbabwe. One of the individual from Ghana lived in Boston where I lived. Opoku and I became best friends.
I'm horrified looking at that water, they dont have bathrooms, sewerage - it all ends up in the same river they took initially water from... no surprise so many innocent children die from dirty water. water tanks, wells it seems so litlle to do but somehow it hasnt been done yet..? fantastic action, we all need to support initiatives like that!
its outrageous in what conditions these people have to live, water is a priviledge where here some have no respect for life wasting huge amounts of food and drink. world is so unfair..
guys look at the suggestions videos on the right. There is definitely a conspiracy here...

While it's good to help charitable organizations, I always wonder what the Kenyan government is doing to help the Motherland.
I'll bet president E. Mwai Kibaki doesn't wash his butt in that filthy water.
I wish it was a way to make sure the donations go where they are supposed and not lining the pockets of government thieves.
