As much as people slate the band for stopping the show half way through, they made the right decision. Someone died at this festival during Limp Bizkits performance later on. ATDI knew their were too many people in their, thats why they stopped.

With the new 15 minute allowance on videos, one could upload the entire Big Day Out footage with Arcarsenal, Pattern Against User, and Cosmonaut from "Let's dance, rather than beat the shit out of each other..." to the bleating outro to the anti-mosh speech. The entire performance was just under 15 minutes.
Fuck a moshpit, not to this music anyway. Bands in El Paso usually start off with bar and backyard shows. They're energetic as fuck and the crowd jumps alot but I'd be pissed if i got thrown into a moshpit and elbowed at a show. Its not a fucking metal show. Listen to job for a cowboy or some gay shit if you want a mosh pit.

I was at this gig. You have absolutely no idea how dangerous it was in that crowd from just looking at the video. I decided I had to get out of there after 3 songs, I dont remember the sheep bit. I didnt know that ATDI themselves walked off soon after I got out. The mosh was a nightmare. Cedric was right. This was youthful humanity in horror form.

Man, he was so in the right to say that to the crowd and then get the hell out. It's amazing how hindsight proved his reaction to be correct later that exact day. It's unfortunate someone lost their life, but ATDI did what should have been done by all bands. They said F U to the mindless violence and left before finishing their set.
I think he was pissed by not only the pushing but the crowd surfing. It sucks to wait 2 years to see a band only to go and get kicked in the face and the head repeatedly by a size 4 pink Vans sneaker. Then you look and the brace-faced teenybopper who kicked you is crowd surfing laughing hysterically having the time of her life, completely oblivious. Makes you want to punch that girl in the fucking face honestly.
A lot of people may diss on Cedric for this I actually give him props for calling out the crowd after they wouldn't stop slam dancing, I mean a girl ended up dying later that day.

im pretty sure he means when people go to a pit with the intention of punch moshing (as i call it). those people are used to guitar in drop D playing one chord over and over again while the drummer mindlessly does his double bass pedal and the singer tries to sound demonic or some sh$*. pits are supposed to be aggressive, but not aggressive enough to wanna break someones nose.
my only question is how does cedric think people can dance when they are that close together? i saw the mars volta at detour in LA and the pit was so fucking crammed and pushy that after drunkship i slid off to the side to watch in peace. even though i could dance over there, he shouldnt expect the people in the pit to. it's damn near impossible.

Man, he was so in the right to say that to the crowd and then get the hell out. It's amazing how hindsight proved his reaction to be correct later that exact day. It's unfortunate someone lost their life, but ATDI did what should have been done by all bands. They said F U to the mindless violence and left before finishing their set.

I think he was pissed by not only the pushing but the crowd surfing. It sucks to wait 2 years to see a band only to go and get kicked in the face and the head repeatedly by a size 4 pink Vans sneaker. Then you look and the brace-faced teenybopper who kicked you is crowd surfing laughing hysterically having the time of her life, completely oblivious. Makes you want to punch that girl in the fucking face honestly.

A lot of people may diss on Cedric for this I actually give him props for calling out the crowd after they wouldn't stop slam dancing, I mean a girl ended up dying later that day.

im pretty sure he means when people go to a pit with the intention of punch moshing (as i call it). those people are used to guitar in drop D playing one chord over and over again while the drummer mindlessly does his double bass pedal and the singer tries to sound demonic or some sh$*. pits are supposed to be aggressive, but not aggressive enough to wanna break someones nose.

my only question is how does cedric think people can dance when they are that close together? i saw the mars volta at detour in LA and the pit was so fucking crammed and pushy that after drunkship i slid off to the side to watch in peace. even though i could dance over there, he shouldnt expect the people in the pit to. it's damn near impossible.

What I really hate about this kinds of concerts... When assholes throw plastic bottles into the air.
Those mosh pits should be banned. Most of the time I'm dragged into one during concerts. It's really no fun at all. People pushing you ,even hitting you & sometimes my clothes got ripped off. Then if you retaliate a fight starts. It's really pathetic, that's not what I have in mind.
Just jump, headbang, shout & do the Rock&roll sign. Enjoy the concert not trash it!

festivals here people charge around, throw shit into the crowd and at the stage and security cool the crowd off with a fire hose. i've been to festivals in england and everyone keeps a bit of space enjoying the music with out some bogan trying to fight them. The security there pass cups of water out which get passed back by the crowd to whoever wants one. ridiculously civilized

What peoples idea of having a good time and enjoying the music is to mosh to it? For example, I couldn't imagine not moshing at a Rage gig. Unless its the minority ruining it for everyone else, then the band has no right to tell the audience what to do.

Ok, so you don't like moshing, but what if everyone else does? Are they gonna stop just for you? I know someone died in a pit that day, but thats thanks to Fred Durst egging the crowd on. I'd say about 1 in 15,000,000 people die moshing. I mean, he tells them to dance, then criticises them for being sheep when they don't! And look at how Omar's dancing; if thats his reaction 2 the music (i.e. moving round vigorously), then it makes Cedric even MORE hypocritical/cynical.
