I was just responding to why I call it a speed trap. If it was not about the money have them remove the fines, only apply points against license, suspend licenses for speeding and see how much enforcement is applied to speeding. Little if any at that point. I don't have a problem with it just be honest about it.
I did see him, but in my mind when their only purpose is to generate revenue, it's a speed trap. Speed enforcement is not about public safety, it's only about generating $ for the local government. Every study out there has concluded that speeding does not contribute to accidents and even the Federal Reserve study concludes it's about revenue.
The law is so flexible that it actually allows you to go 5 over the PSL, unless your in a school zone. But anyone who speed in a School zone should get a hefty fine for doing that there.
Speeding is speeding. Just be glad that GCPD is pretty lenient. I've gone 5 over with a cop behind me and nothing has ever happened. But then again, I was driving erratic either. And my plates and insurance are clean. They can run me all they want. Haha!
gotta love the ignorant comment on here sometimes. More people die in speed related crashes in Georgia than are murdered in the entire US. So traffic enforcment is important.
If that is the case, then how come the feds released a report saying that driver inattention is the cause of most crashes and deaths on the highways. Don't drink the kool-aid from the Governors Office of Highway Safety. All this is nothing but a revenue generator and the citizens are just too dumb to say anything. Look at Dekalb County. 90 million dollars lost in fines and city of Atlanta flats out loses traffic tickets. If it was so important, then lets have some real standards for driving
Speeding tickets are all about revenue generation and nothing else. Several studies recently have stated that speed have no correlation to safety. They have proeven that talking on a cell phone while driving is as bad as driving under the influence. If they were really worried about safety they would ban cell phone use while driving.

Actually in GA the locals have to give you 10 to cite you using laser or radar.
