I'm jamaican and our food isn't too much different form African food but when it comes to me trying i am an EPIC FAIL! XD it shouldn't be so hard but dang! XD
Hi sir, you are very amusing and I too enjoy African cuisine. I especially enjoy the dishes from west Africa like jollof rice, and egusi soup. Thanks for posting.
I told my African boyfriend what is Fu Fu?? Cause i am Chinese i want to know his African food culture. And his temper rise up and he heard me wrongly on the phone.
He sayed to me: You are finding another African man!
Me: No No, Dear.. i just want to know what is Fu Fu?? urr..? African dish..??

@CHEFANTIVAN did you go to the continent to get this great looking dish? Your home looks like you travel extensively. I think it is awesome. Thank you for sharing your take on the culture and the dish. I hope you continue to bring us your gifts from your travels
DAMN! bruh africans deff dont eat like that!!!! and what type of fufu is tht? how are very soft and fluffy even flexible this looks like a horrible dish and is tht a dough damn! its disturbing lol TO AMERICANS WATCHING THIS. WE AFRICANS DO NOT EAT LIKE THAT..
@icychicagurl You should never be ashamed of tradition. Eating with hand and okay if your fufu is different I will let you have that. However to say you don't eat with your hand because YOU, were not brought up like that does not make it so. Also their are plenty of other cultures in the world that consume their food this way. I am not saying YOU are however never let anyone make you feel less than. Everything is strange to someone who is not accustomed...
Just for the record nd am speaking FOR ALL GHANAIANS..this fuFU is definately not from us nd we do not eat like that...SO PLSSS NAME SPECIFIACALLY WHAT COUNTRY EAT THAT FUFU ..Thx
where is this food from seriously...i am from cameroon found in africa and we do eat smashed starchy food and vegetable or soup but as a cameroonian,i have never seen that kind of vegetable soup in my entire life so i will like u to tell us the country in africa where this comes from
@epotewane The fufu is eaten in most sub-saharan countries in various forms. The word fufu though comes from Ghana, from the Akan word for white because of the white casava, it means white white=fufuo
@bretuobay : Fufu too comes from Yoruba word meaning the same written Funfun pronounced fufu and our Fufu is not pounded but cassava dough turned similar to Amala (koukounte) and very different from Gari which also comes from cassava grains. Remember we all eat similar food tho they all differ in preparation according to place of origin.

My God! YOU DON'T CHEW FUFU....lol.. you swallow..... The Fufu is a bit like mashed potato ...lol.. Give me that Okra Vegetable soup I'll kill it in a sec. ..
@omoibile im nigerian and i chew my eba and iyan. I know others who do it too. it depends on the person. The reason i chew is because i like gnawing the fufu.
@ToonieU: well, thts ur personal preference just like I know someone who swallow rice instead of gnawing, but normally Fufu is to be swallowed whole. Ask any west african
lmao, ok, eating african style 101....when you take a piece of fufu, u have to pressit around in ur hand to make it even, and then u use ur tomb to make a lil puddle in the fufu so that the soup could not go all over. its all in the fingers....but gud try...and the soup looks interesting....lol wow. did u put chuncks of okra in there?
Goin with yo bad self. I had just cooked a big pot of meat, chicken, beef, smoked turkey, dried shrimp, and crab legs. My house sells like an African village right now. Yes I am American but I was married to Nigerian. I enjoy cooking African, Indian, and Jamaican foods. I really enjoy seeing another American who is not afraid to try different culture. My son love FuFu to. God Bless.
i like african food. i can never eat fufu with my hands. it is pound yam, and soup like chicken, beef, goat meat. you can eat that pounded yam with any soup you want. when i go to african restaurant i always order 3 meats. chicken, beef and fish with spinach. i can never swallow pounded yam, i chew it then swallow.
LOL @ the lil water bowl. Cute idea. I love African food. Do u have recipes for the red spicy sauce? I eat it at every Ghanaian house I visit. Its made of tomato paste? U know wht I'm talking abyt?
I got a little horny from watching you eat that delicious African cuisine
