  • hey wat drum set is that your using

  • @naruto57crany It's a Yamaha DTXPress.

  • Muito Boa a Video Aula Parabéns.

  • this is crap

  • It's pretty useful. It would help if you then played the whole thing through at the end. I have to say though I sure the ride/crash is incorrect? Is it not 4 instead of 8?

  • Lol those drums sound like shit and you are extremely boring. Give up now and remove this video. I shall report it to youtube for inappropriate content for sucking so bad and not even playing the notes you have on the bottom of the screen!!!!! Ahahahahahahaa.

  • no offence man but i can air drum to the song better than you can on your electric drum kit

  • hey thanks for the lesson, a lot of you guys are absolute douche bags ragging on his drums and teaching style and even the fact that he is British. If you want to critisize at least be helpful about it. Thanks for helping us beginner drummers out, hope you'll be uploading more soon.

  • Fuckin british people use real fuckin drums!

  • @acdcrocks432 it's quite expenesive in england, normal drums sets. maybe america is cheaper. but we're not in america, stop trolling. he's trying to help you. Prick.

  • weeeee.. a retard!!! cool!

  • its nice that you teach us how to play

    but......

seriously ur drum set sounds bad, haha.

  • cheers. i was looking for something like this for ages. the chart is not free it is £1. lol.

  • I have been looking to try and find the chart for this song for soooooo long .... thank you sooo much :)

  • you should make podcast

  • Thank you very much for the Drum Chart! The snare is tricky on this song.

  • i doNT like the tune of ur bASs siR,...it sounDs like hip hop bASs somethinG soRry,.

  • why did you just type like that?

  • i just can't get a fill that sounds right

  • Great lesson. I will definetly use your chart when covering this song. Meanwhile, check out my cover of Be Somebody on my youtube channel.

  • Hey man, I don't play drums, I play the guitar, as you could probably tell by the user name. But, YOU ROCK!

  • Thanks

  • those drums sound like dick

    but good video

  • thx man i was looking for this fill for monthes!!

  • Cool video Nathan! It's demonstrated with the song in this video... The drummer is grooving, I liked it, and then I learned it. THANK YOU, here it is!

    /watch?v=VZEzoUhOziI

  • With the 2nd verse Bar 1 & 2 it sounds like one of the base beats is a 16th note which is a favorite of his in many of their songs, no?

  • wow... you really put time and effort into all these.. thanks! :)

  • that guy playing looks like a retarded t-rex

  • this is the worst setting for an electric drumset everrr hhahaha

its like the fuckin arabian drums ahaha

  • @imjimbriscoe I know my man, the sound sucks more than a industrial vacuum cleaner....on steroids. I have a nice new drum kit now with sounds that don't make your ears bleed.

  • Your awesome who else would do this

    thank you

  • that beat for the 2nd verse is so sick

  • you dont play the fills that you have notated its totally different

  • Hey 101Ballman,

The toms that Nathan uses on the recording were really hard to hear accurately so I just played some of my own variations in the video (as explained).

Don't worry about copying these fills note for note. Nathan doesn't, he plays it differently with every live performance. Most experienced drummers would not worry about transcribing another drummers fill note for note when so many random toms are being hit. As long as it's in time, its cool.

    Hope this helps you buddy.

    Rob

  • Thanks, this video and the charts included helped alot.

I will be sure to visit your website !

  • that chart sucks dude, the first fill is wrong

  • Sorry I wasn't able to help you. I did explain about the first fill in the video though.

  • @SurFacingBoy93 yea both of those drum fills are wrong srry dude

  • keep it up, these vids can be very helpful for beginners..but that electric drums sounds awful!!!!

  • Thanks for the vid and the chart. Clean and concise. I like how you broke up the sections in your transcription. I could see how that could help a student visual and learn song structure. Brilliant.

We're opening with this song in church on Sunday and you saved me a lot of transcribing time. Much appreciated.

This is guy is the real deal.

    Cheers!

  • oh my goshhhhhhhh! could you be a little more boring! this video makes drums look sooooooo boring!

  • Sorry I wasn't able to help you tayjayt and Daviidify. I'm still learning how to approach these videos (serious and detailed OR funny and light) and will try to add some "sparkle" next time!

  • it´s horrible

  • thanks

  • cool thanks dude you helped me alot! but can you do a slow version of the drum fills please? thanks dude

  • In the chorus, are you supposed to be hitting the ride cymbal, or is that just open hi-hat?

  • ride, I'm drumming this song at school :)

  • actually its the crash not the ride

  • Eeeehr, yeah. Okay. You are a good drummer, not animal at all, but you play a good and correct technique. That's something positive.

It's great that you have online sheets for drumming, this is rather unique!! I've searches for it often. But this video is for beginners; beginners often can't read notes. And this song is too difficult for most. Furthermore, many could be irritated by your up- and downstrokes on the right hand.

    But thanks for the scores!!!

  • Thanks for your constructive criticism, InsaneDrums. Your points have been noted.

Glad I was also able to help you with the drum score though!

  • I was always taught to read drum notation from lesson 1 and consequently it has allowed me to become better than lot's of drummer that can't.

  • same

  • fuck off

  • You've missed a kick beat in the chorus, otherwise it is acceptable I guess.

  • These Techno Settings don't fit to Kings of Leon!

    And I also don't understand what you're playing...sry

  • I'm not sure if it will help you but you can download the full drum chart by clicking on the link in the "more Info" panel to your right?

Also, the snare drum sound was used because its clear and crisp which is great for video demonstrations.

Sorry I couldn't help you further, bud. Feel free to email me through my website if you have any questions.

  • That's alright but you got like a tachno setting on your kit... and it gets kinda boring.

  • I'm sure it's just because I've listened and learnt the drums with the song, so when broken down sound different.

  • what you have done is made your own beats up that sound right to you but are nothing like real thing.............nothing to do with kit.

And you have made up other beats which are even more wrong............YOUR MENT TO HELP PEOPLE PLAY IT NOT CONFUSE THEM!!!!!!!!!

  • With the greatest respect Steve, I have been drumming for over 20 years now and have transcribed this song note for note to the best of my abilities.

I can assure you that I did not make up my own beats and that these are the ones used in the recorded version of the song (Nathan plays different fills and improvises live).

One final thing, Steve. I'm doing this for free in my spare time for fun. I just hope I can be of help to my fellow drumming brothers and sisters!

    All the best.

  • Everything he's doing is correct. He even broke it down into individual measures....with correct notation! I think the real issue here is you can't read/understand sheet music.

    Nice work, keep it up.

  • Shut up Steve, he IS definitely right! I'm druming for 10 years now.

  • Those beats sound really wrong to me,

  • Hey,

These are the right beats and fills but played on a bad sounding electric drum kit! ;-)

Always diffiucult to replicate the exact sound.

  • nice one!

  • Well done man! Good solid explanation and good video to boot. keep up the good work!

  • Thanks mate, I'm glad you enjoyed it!
