Help! anybody know how to load samples on to this thing ???
I have them at 32.ooo khz 16 bit and very rarely the electribe s will reade them. I'm using Audiofile sample manger to convert them.
I have had better luck converting them in Sony vegas in windoze 7. It reads the card ok for data but not sample data, i have them listed as 2 digit numbers as well 01,02,03 etc.
I don't get why every now and then it will read the sample ?
I have the same prob with 3 diff SM cards so it can't be them.
Bakeher. You can record in step mode (like he did the kick at the beginning) or live record (like he did the hats) at any time with any of the parts (sounds).
Hey man i got one of these and the sounds your using i know weren't preloaded to the machine. How did u manage to get them on the machine? PLEASE ANSWER!!!!
@BARRATTI IIRC, you need to number your samples in double digits (00.wav, 01.wav). I forget the sample rate and bit rate - something like 22kHz and 16 bit I guess.
@Psymiley I actually solved this a long time ago. Using a power adapter from a panasonic cordless phone believe it or not. Works a charm. Now using this as a drum controller for KONG in reason.
@cartesiaLive I'm looking into the es1 and like it, but i've been trying to figure out - can you load a single sample of let's say C and have a scale made of it - c#,d,d#, e, f, etc.? Something like the multi-pitch function in the SP1200. Or do you have to resample each sample into the respective tones of the scale and write it so you can record some melodies in real time?
@martin984 I think I answered this Q in the other ES-1 youtube video.. but just in case you missed it - The pitch knob gives you + or - 2 octaves of semitones (so +1 position will make C into C#, etc).. You can automate the pitch knob to set pitch per step ('motion sequence' on 'trig hold' mode). If you don't want to use the motion sequence to do it you'll have to resample with the pitch knob at different positions.
i have a microkorg, with the es1 can i record samples of from the microkorg and play it from the es1 live including drum loops?
sorry if im being an idiot but ive been trying to find out which ones are samplers and which are just drum machines with synths playing at the same time.
how could you apply the slices in the pads when you're in pattern mode? i mean how do you play , for ex.:slice 2 in pad 4? is it possible to copy slice pads in the same pattern?
I want to buy one of these, but I want to use it as a sequencer for my analog synths as well. I wonder if it's possible to send chromatic midi notes with it, or if just send one note shots. I somebody knows that help would be appreciated.
with the electribe s mkii you can only send one shot samples, if you wish to send both one shot and chromatic midi signals you would need one of the new generation electribes such as the emx or esx, the only one of the original tribes that send chromatic signals is the EA1 but this does not send one shot signals.
Hope you get that cause i confused myself a bit there. :) Hope that helps
the rmkII can send chromatic midi notes but they are only useful for drums and percussion of course as they are gated very short. I would think the original er-1 would do it too but don't hold me to that.
Dude, that was great. I've had one of these things for years, but it's been collecting dust. You've really tempted me to dust if off, load a whole bunch of samples and cut stuff up.
Excuse me Mr. Denkitribe, but i am very interested in buying a korg sampler in order to do entire improv sets with. I was wondering if you (or anyone reading) could tell me what features the EMX has over the ES, and whether it's worth shelling out the extra money for the kind of project i want to do.
the EMX has built in oscillators, which basically means you can generate your synth and bass sounds on the unit. the ESX, on the other hand, is entirely sample based (hence the S) and has to have your own samples loaded onto it in order to create stuff. buy one of each and you have the perfect set.
this is awsome video. thank god somebody did this from the start till the end.. and take time to show us. ive got a question: so you started it with A06 you made you loop and than what did you do when you wanted to go to a02, and in the background is still playing a06.. you pressed what?'
It's not very often to get to see someone's work in progress. This guy's stuff sounds good already at this stage, I wonder how his finished products done for real are like.Must be truely awesome. Not just his music and the sound quality of them but the visuals like these, always very organised, fades in and out nicely.Brilliant.

@BARRATTI Hey man. U need a smartmedia card to load external wave:s . You can also sample to the internal memory via the input.

So it's just a sampler?
The7thINFANTRY 1 year ago
@The7thINFANTRY There 'is' somewhat of a synth, but very basic compared with the EA model.

can anyone tell me the amps of the power adapter, i lost mine.
trossy111 1 year ago
@trossy111 It's 9v 600mA with center negative! Last bit is important and most generic power adapters are positive center - which would pop a Korg.

SicSheist 2 years ago 6
swap it for an mpc,you can do so much more with the samples, especially the 16 levels makes you create new melodies
sweepee213 2 years ago
Nobody will swap an MPC for an ES-1... there is a huge price difference, so comparing the two is ridiculous.
And for the record, you can create melodies with the ES-1 ;)

er mkI and II are the same, only the ring mod and the cross mod are different.
if you want to sequence other synthies you need an electribe em or ea - this is the older generation like the er, or one of the new ones.
the er and es arend made for melodic sequencing...
