@BadazzShovelhead It's demonstration. We learn that to not hurt ourselves and to be flexible. A person that has no clue about Aikido would get hurt because she does not know how to fall and her body is not flexible. Aikido at full, with no reserves against a non-aikidoka would be really harmful. You don't want to break someone's arm or neck in a training, and Aikido is not about attacking and fighting. In a real life situation, one movement would put down the opponent with no need for more.

This is me : watch?v=qSfi4j9vsPE (add to end of Youtube link), it was from studying Aikido , which watching Seagal made me go study it; especially Ki Aikido (Tohei) that gave me enery & strength to do this, they did not teach me to do what you see in video directly of course but without learning Ki in daily life, no way would I be able to do it. Video is all real, no sound effects or anything; and took me two months of practice to be able to do. Hope it will show anything is possible!

@rene3x Aikido is based on timing an opponent's attack to properly execute a technique. What really scews up Aikido guys is the feint: An attack that isn't an attack, but is designed to provoke a response which is then attacked. In boxing, it's the jab. It doesn't commit the boxer, but it would provoke a response, such as weaving or backing up, that could then be attacked. This is the problem with Aikido, it doesn't have an answer for the feint.
It was an special experience because they were so got at locking grabbing and holding that your technique have to be executed nearl perfectly to get through .. but it was possible
@theschnitter yes wrestlers have real good locks but for every lock there is an escape, i would like to do sambo wrestling but that gym is to far of a drive.

Traditional judo, which I studied, is a complete martial art, including leglocks (such as ashi garami) and strikes (atemi-waza) that are illegal in competition. Sounds like you studied judo at a competition-obsessed dojo -- in other words, you didn't study judo the martial art, but sissy competition judo. Traditional judo is a complete and effective martial art.

A person that has no clue about Aikido would get hurt because she does not know how to fall and her body is not flexible. Aikido at full, with no reserves against a non-aikidoka would be really harmful. You don't want to break someone's arm or neck in a training, and Aikido is not about attacking and fighting. In a real life situation, one movement would put down the opponent with no need for more.

This is me : watch?v=qSfi4j9vsPE (add to end of Youtube link), it was from studying Aikido , which watching Seagal made me go study it; especially Ki Aikido (Tohei) that gave me enery & strength to do this, they did not teach me to do what you see in video directly of course but without learning Ki in daily life, no way would I be able to do it. Video is all real, no sound effects or anything; and took me two months of practice to be able to do. Hope it will show anything is possible!

@rene3x Aikido is based on timing an opponent's attack to properly execute a technique. What really scews up Aikido guys is the feint: An attack that isn't an attack, but is designed to provoke a response which is then attacked. In boxing, it's the jab. It doesn't commit the boxer, but it would provoke a response, such as weaving or backing up, that could then be attacked. This is the problem with Aikido, it doesn't have an answer for the feint.

Traditional judo, which I studied, is a complete martial art, including leglocks (such as ashi garami) and strikes (atemi-waza) that are illegal in competition. Sounds like you studied judo at a competition-obsessed dojo -- in other words, you didn't study judo the martial art, but sissy competition judo.
