Big @Bill@Smith MADE this series as @Falconetti Reading the Shaw book, had they cast it as written, the miniseries would've been a DISASTER! The @Falconetti Character is described as a Shipboard Fat Slob with a TURNIP head?
Bill Smith the best ever,I ended up getting a movie role some 25 years ago his agent turned down due to budget.....they got me for a paltry sum,@BILL would have been great in the role though!
Great acting! @Bill@Smith FALCONETTI walks in the compartment to show the "New Man" @Nolte ... who's "Boss" AND to check him out. The WAY @Bill walks in,LOOKS at @Nolte several times and changes the radio station to "Control" the personnel and NOT the radio!
"Hollywood" is run by a bunch of "politically correct" @Fags . YES Big @Bill@Smith SHOULD have been on the HIGHEST level of ANY actor, but he probably didn't want to jump through hoops. The ones who Run the film business are Stupid and Blind!
What a great movie tough guy!...William Smith should have been up there with the likes Charles Bronson...It's hard to understand how he never made it really big and even when he was no more than a bystander in some movies he always had a more powerful presence than the 'stars'.....He'd have been great in the Sergio Leone westerns.
Ive just bought the whole series ( 1 and 2 ) and I noticed that as Falconetti is taken off the ship he has a dressing over his left eye. Yet on each subsequent appearance he has a patch over his right eye.
Heard William Smith defeated Arnold Swarzenegger in armwrestling when they made Conan. William Smith played Conans father the blacksmith. However William Smith has been an proffessional armwresler. Ha ha ha kuriosa
by the time william smith played the role of falconetti, he was already an extremely experienced american actor -- years of mostly good guy television and movie roles under his belt

Rich Man, Poor Man hit a tremendous climax when Falc entered the story. He was so supremely evil, especially when he finally finds Tom in France.

Not just the scariest bad guy, but a really fine actor. The way he delivers his lines! I watched this clip about 10 times over.
