@slash5155 Although called Fuzz Universe, its actually an overdrive and clean boost pedal. As Paul himself said "Fuzz is just the name I use for distortion or overdrive or whatever."

It's a little disappointing going from a truly ultra clean Fender amp sound. It relies on you already having your amp on the dirty side for it to sing, but that's the Gilbert sound. You couldn't use it in your Isley Brothers Tribute band, but why would you?

The pedal was definitely made with the Dimarzio Single coils in mind, the EQ is set up just perfect for the Fireman. The 301 definitely has a lot more low end, but do the highs seem a bit muffled? Maybe my ears are just used to the sharp attack of the single coils...

x 9 11 9 12 x chord. check him out in that fuzz universe live in house of blue in la vid at like 58 secs to see what im talking about.
