  • Wow - you totally have no fear in holding these! - unlike myself!

  • Ohhhhhurrrrghhhh. I know it's completely irrational as these chaps are totally harmless but this makes my skin, brain and soul crawl. I've tried to train myself to not be scared of them, intellectually I know I'm being a silly wimpy bastard, but when I turn the light on in the bathroom and see one of the bastards scuttling around some very ancient part of my brain takes over and my adrenal system goes fucking nuts. Then I'm checking for them everywhere, like a paranoid crackhead.

  • No,No,No,No,No.. it makes me want to scream

  • @mustbesoph11 YES,YES,YES,YES,YES!!!, go on girl,let it all out X)

  • ICK! spiders really creep me out...i cant help it! Its their beady little eyes and fangs and long hairy legs and the way they walk! BRRR so creepy D: if i picked one up i would be scared it would run onto my chest or something XS

  • Subhaanallah that is a serious house spider..

you are totally mad picking up that.. i know they aren't poisonous when they bite, but they certainly can and do transmit hepatitis because they are known for drinking water from leaking toilet pipes and so on..

  • spiders are beautiful!!!

  • They can bite, and it does hurt a little, but it's nothing like a T bite. I love spiders, I have a large spider myself, but these things are creepy and I can't bring myself to holding one. Strange I know. My girlfriend tries to kill them, but every creature deserves it's place in life and I like to set them free outside. The spiders in the UK are getting bigger, as I'm getting older I'm noticing their size increase compared to when I was younger.

  • I walked in to one of these today

  • Thank you xx

  • Awesome. I'm trying to overcome my fear of these magnificent creatures. I'm succeeding I think. I've held one of these but not quite as big. These are non aggressive I think. Nice gentle giants. Still a little wary of the Tube Webs. Lol. ;-)

  • @awferfuksake Well you certainly are succeeding, you have pretty much done it,yes these are not aggressive and after they calm down as they are the fastest ,like this one will happily walk on you, well done :)

  • god dam man put it down

  • I just killed one in my studio flat in central London!

  • @TillyTuck Ok.......thanks for the pointless comment from the mass infested shithole AKA London,I would of expected better from looking at your channel info :/

  • @TillyTuck I hate spiders ok...

  • any 1 know these spiders (contrary to popular belief) are poisonous

  • @cludo88 Most spiders are poisonous for crying out loud, they need it to disable their prey, although Tegenaria duellicacan(gigantea)can penetrate human skin they are NOT a danger to humans, scaremongering is the biggest cause of fear in society, truth and real honest facts are what is really needed, they are a beautiful useful creature and due to ill education are seen to be monsters :/

  • thats pretty big i found a bigger 1 tho in my room after coming back from a night up town i shoud have got a video of it, nice 2 see your a welder i just finished 3 years of it at college :)

  • @londonTown1989 Nice one mate, well good luck getting a decent job, comes in very handy for projects,im currently building my young kids an aluminium off road jeep powered by a 3hp 4 stroke petrol engine,im a lover of TIG welding, will get a vid up of it once its finished showing the whole build :)

  • @ARCEYE78 yea do that i would like to see your handy work, and i allso love tig i think its my best out of the 3 tig mig mma

  • @londonTown1989 Cant beat TIG imo,i had to teach myself aluminium TIG welding but from a trainee hygenic pipe welding background it was quite easy and so satisfying, you may like my handmade stainless trenchknife, the vid is in my weapons and stuff i have made playlist,i have a thing for stainless steel and have also made a stainless cannon,im sure i made a vid of that?? what are you wanting to get into ?

  • I've just seen one the same size, i popped it outside.

  • I love your description, Health and Safety first ;)

  • God get your nails cleaned!!!!! Lol

  • @ajmbee Well as i just got home from work as a welder/fabricator i think i deserve a break from that trolling dumbass comment from you and i must say for a so called registered blind person you see pretty well!,maybe your a government sponger that i and millions of others help pay for your crybaby ,lazy ,lying bullsh#t arse, your a very sad little lady who needs to get a life.

  • @ARCEYE78 Relax....

  • @ARCEYE78 Haha, Thats her telt. You're right enough though.

  • @pubeman Lol! cheers mate,BTW love your username X)

  • i take my hat off to you, i mean iv held a turrantula but summat about big house spiders chills me to the bone

  • Oh my goodness gracious me.....!!! Coulnt even watch video. I've been getting them in my home. Stayed at a friends house with my two kids when I saw one like yours. Just hoping it's gone. Keep seeing other very large ones about the house. WHY ARE THEY GETTING SO BIG??? feel like um going to vomit when I see one...... Gives me shivers and I start sweating.

  • how the hell can you touch that disgusting thing.. i saw one in my room around the same size 2 days ago and i havent slept in their since, and i dont plan to until i see it dead with my own eyes, most hanging things going

  • wow!! what a beautiful spider! i had to get one out of the house last night, i let it climb up my arm on to my shoulders, then it come down and rested on my stomach XD

  • @lucylovesgaara Nice one,not many girls would go near let alone allow it to crawl on them,my 7 yr old daughter does the same, she makes me proud X)

  • Urgh, I hate them so much. I feel effeminated by them.

  • theres one of those lives in my coal bunker and feed him flys hes been there for ages now and he is massive compared to the other ones that fly around my house

  • It could have actually been the same sort as this one.

  • Do know a lot about spiders? I got a high resolution picture of one that came into my house yesterday. It didn't look like it was from this country. Maybe you could take a look..?

By the way, you are one brave person!

  • @deanoeldo Not really,i take a great interest in most creatures but my knowlege is a little more than basic :)

  • @ARCEYE78 Okayy cool. I think the one we had was this one anyway. It looked like this one. But was rather hairy.

  • One of these lads came in my house and hung out in my living room. Only had 7 legs, bless him. I caught him with a pint glass and a piece of paper and let him back out in to the garden. 2 days later and he's made his way up my wall and in to my bath. Knew it was the same chap 'cause he only had 3 legs on his left side.

  • Can you come round mine & collect them all out of our old shed whilst we empty it, oh & the garage needs a check aswell LOL. I found one a bit bigger than that the other day on the floor as i was about to get in the bath & so i ran out shouting for the wife to get the vacum quick. We get quite a lot as our house backs onto a field

  • @p4ddythehelipilot same here,we live on a crop farm surrounded by wheat/pea's ect,love it X)

  • you have balls man. i keep getting these fuckers through my window. i hate to do it but i have to kill them. horrible things, too quick to catch like them little money spiders

  • @jim191185 just get em in a glass with a card and sling em outside, just think they eat them bastard flies that suck our blood and eat shite to then land on our fresh cooked dinner X),i back up the spiders with my rather hungry venus flytrap :)

  • @ARCEYE78 if i miss them with the glass they drop off the wall and vanish, then im stuck in a room with the evil bastard. flies have this bad reputation but its spiders that are the problem :D

  • Where the FUCK is my vacuum cleaner

  • Mate you are angin lol

  • @sasuke000naruto Why because im not a pussy scared of things thousands of times smaller than me?

  • Most Spiders are beneficial, thanks for not killing it! Weve got several House Spiders, & I love them all:)

  • @loveunderlaw Good to hear it :),i just got back from Greece (Kos) and caught loads of diferent insects we dont get here,i find em all fascinating, will get the vid up soon :)

  • @ARCEYE78 Oh man, you're so lucky! Have you ever been to the Amazon Basin \ Rainforest? There's so many cool insects, arthropods, & arachnids there I'd like to see there. I will never understand why so many people are afraid of these little guys lol. Just because a few have the potential to make you ill, or possibly cause life threatening harm doesn't make them all bad. Besides, even the ones with potent neurotoxins \ venom can be docile if handled properly, I used to play with Black Widows LOL

  • @loveunderlaw I would truly love to go to a rainforest with a pro insect hunter,i just cant help myself,im always off looking for something,i found prey mantis, locust & a good few other great creatures, one very interesting find was a strange locust cross crickett insect i found, very vertically elongated head, feathery antennae, wings & powerful hind legs,im gonna google it to see if i can name it for my vid,yes like you i will handle most things even poisonous with care, most dont understand :)

  • @ARCEYE78 That's good that you're inquisitive instead of destructive, Nature should be appreciated, & observed! I live Mantids too, very cool, & brave little guys. I used to have all kinds of Spider, & Insect buddies when I still lived home with my parents. But my mom freaked out, & made me get rid of them:( Mom's just don't understand LOL Have a gr8 weekend:)

  • @loveunderlaw Most people just dont understand and are ignorant to the nature that surrounds them, their loss :/,my daughter will come up to me and say "dad look what i caught" opening her hands to reveal a spider or other insect, she will even happily let it crawl over her up to her neck LOL calm as could be,i bring my kids up to appreciate and embrace nature but still respect the dangers, enjoy the weekend too mate :)

  • how the fuck can you pick that up if that was in my house that woulda caught the shoe long time ago

  • No idea how you could just pick that up ._. One of those crueled up my friends wall last night just before we went to bed and I freaked and screamed the place down. It was I think another inch on the one inthe video. Horrid.

  • that frigger has got me looking up into all the corners of my room now.. I swear I feel something on me.. whaaaahh....!!!!!!!!!

  • We have them over here.... 0.0

  • You can tell right away that its a male :]

  • thats a huge male !!!

  • these spiders do bite!

  • @nafanttt So does my Mrs but neither are poisonous X)

  • acc made me jump, no joke

  • I actually love spiders and can handle a lot of em but this has got to be the only harmless spider i cant touch. They freak me the fuck out man.

  • BIG UP BRITAIN

  • You are a very brave man.

  • Omfg, I'd never be able to do that. I've got serious arachnophobia. I only try to watch YouTube videos of spiders so that I can at least try to tolerate images of them, but they still make me paranoid. LOL. I'm just glad that there's no spiders anywhere near me right now, or I'd be going mental. xD

  • picking up random big ass spiders because your a fearless british bastard.

  • @Jeremih15 You got that right.

  • Thank you so much for uploading this vid. Been suffering from severe arachnophobia for many years now. Finally on Saturday I went to this "Friendly Spider Programme" thing at London Zoo, which involved a big group of us arachnophobes and a spider talk and hypnotherapy (was expensive but I couldn't go on living in constant spider fear!). Couldn't believe how much it helped, but I'm yet to come across a spider running around in my flat, so dunno how I'd react to that (but before Saturday I would..

  • ...never ever have even been able to watch this video at all). But back to the point. I wanted to thank you for posting this coz I have been trying to find vids to watch to help to get used to looking at (house) spiders, but most of the vids are of people being scared of them trying to get rid of them etc. and seeing you here handle one like it's a perfectly normal things puts it in a very positive light. Sorry for the ramble. Your vid is very useful for me! Female/26/London, UK.

  • @liveindreams Your very welcome & im really glad to hear your doing something to help with your phobia,i didn't know of spider programmes, you will have a job getting near one of these guys but you could look in your garden or park for one in its web, many beautiful species out there & you could even feed them if you wanted, swatted house flies that are still alive are good, then you can just sit at a comfortable distance & watch, take care and good luck, upload a vid when you start handling them :)

  • he drops it. and picks it up for more. I WOULD DIE !!!!!!

  • OMG IN BRITIAN AAAAAH

  • ...I can't believe it that I think this spider is a bit cute somehow... XD

  • Those spiders are harmless and goodies. They look more freasom they really are :)

  • @aure232 "They look freasom they really are". Where did you learn the English language, Vietnam?

  • @S1CKDRIFT3R yes, in Saigon 1969

  • OMG How can u DO that, if that so much as touched me I would be dead in seconds!

  • He actually seems contaminated to me since he's willing to touch those things. Seriously, if I met him in real life I don't know if I could respect him knowing he likes to do that. It's almost like he's a little less human or something. Uhg.

  • @TheDurationPlusFive

haha i had these exact thoughts ! :L

  • i hate spiders and i live next to a huge overgrown field and some of the ones that come in the house in autumn are massive! me and my girlfriend will be sitting there and one of us starts screaming cos we spot one! one run under the sofa and we had to go up to bed as we were too scared to sit there. its pathetic i know but its my mums fault cos she used to scream and run away from them when i was a toddler and its kinda stuck

  • @adlufc1141new sorry to hear that although its not pathetic just irrational but like you say its from childhood and will be hard to beat without hard work :)

  • ... Is it just me or does that EXACTLY like the spider in Harry Potter 4?

  • omg if i found one of those in my house i would scream demand we move and spray bug spray every five minutes in the new house

  • I caught a beast like this a few weeks ago in an upside down glass and tried scaring my 5 year old daughter with it. She just tapped the glass to make it move and watched it. I should have put it in my spare empty fish tank to see how big it grow.

  • Had these living in my old house, jesus.....these are fucking huge like the one in this video

  • Pretty impressive for a uk spider.

  • Some bright light imported these to Western Canada. They go dashing across the lounge carpet and I run screaming up the stairs. Here in Victoria B.C. we have house spiders in the house and hobo spiders in the garden. Cats do find them tasty.

  • Haw can you take it in your hand it's so horible... I'm arachnophobic and i trie to watch videos on the internet to get better but i don't understand how people could handle that... Their legs terrifie me. Why it isn't cute like a little butterfly? lol

  • @sonia64400 it is cute like a butterfly X) but you perceive it in a different way as they have been shown to be a threat to you in the past by others behaviour usually from childhood,my daughter (6) will happily pick them up and show me before either me or herself sets them free & this is purely from me showing her that these & and certain other creatures are no threat :)

  • That monster was found in the U.K? Or is it an Aussie born, British house spider? I have seen some monsters here (U.K) but nothing as big as that monster. I am sorry to say, I used to squash them, but have had a change of heart since one raised its arms in defence when I went for the kill! Now I catch them and put them outside, whilst sweating and shaking a bit! :)

  • @Eyeball1975 nope pure Brittish beef X) they get big here on the farm especially the once i feed up on wasps X) ,good to hear your beating your fears :)

  • @ARCEYE78 We used to have one living in our garden wall that we fed with lightly stunned wasps. Nasty way to go, but wasps deserve everything they get! I am not too scared of them these days, as long as I am in control of the situation and know where they are! :)

  • @Eyeball1975 LOL!! nice one,i do the same and took a vid too X)

  • How come it's so calm? When I see these on the walls or floor I always try to touch them but they leg it like lightning! I've noticed the smaller ones are always more frantic.

  • I don't think any level of fear with spiders is irrational only because there are various species, many of then of course being poisonous. Maybe i am saying this because i do have a fear of spiders myself and I found my self biting my nails through this one. However I still find them fascinating and wish i could bring myself to hold them just like you! :)

  • @gabz101 in a way you are right as without proper ID it may be a threat although not a native UK type but you still cant be too careful as tropical breeds have been know to get past customs although they cannot survive the uk cold but not many people know that their are a small amount of tiny scorpions living at a coastal port if i remember rightly on a wall facing the sun although this was many years ago now,i'll google it now as im curious to see if thet are still there.

  • @gabz101 yep they are still there a long-established scorpion colony lives in the brickwork of a wall on the dockside in Sheerness X) so all insects to be treated with caution unless you know better :)

  • i hate spiders that run fast idc thats my opinion

  • @chicarocks123 well this is the fastest type of spider X)

  • @ARCEYE78 lol its is omg scary shit lol

  • @chicarocks123 ok? nobody is critisising your opinion

  • @LogWaft thanks for pointing that out ?

  • i now shit myself going out my house cus there is a tube web spider in a hole near my front door my friend tried getting it and got bitten not poisounus but they are in england i quite litterally shit myself when i leave my house

  • Wooo I'd of smushed that thing

  • @TheAndyScotland reeeeally....must take some big balls to smush a spider, whatever smush means to you scots ???

  • OMFG!!!!!! thats retarded

  • most species in england have a bite that will hardly break the skin but until yesterday i didn't know that these ones can

  • i have an irrational fear of spiders but they do fascinate me and would never squish one, my missis sees a spider and just sees beauty !! would even get upset if she saw one harmed. Shes like yourself with no fear of any spiders, beatles insects etc etc - which is great for me because then i dont have to deal with them :)

  • @exup1k Well i must say it s usually women that suffer the most so good to hear but obviously not for you but you never know she may perswade you :) Oh btw your name exup1k,,do you by any chance own / ride an FZR1000 EXUP?,one of all my time fav bikes :)

  • @ARCEYE78 shes had all sorts of weird pets!! not now though! Yeah ive had 3 exups in my time, my missis is also a biker and i had an exup when we first dated, excellent bikes!!! I got a few bikes at the moment, R1s etc... check my vids, theres a nice restored 125 in there, and an R6 i just finished. You have a bike at mo?

  • @exup1k Nice, both bikers, well i gave up bikes many years ago now after 1 too many crashes from slippery roads to my own lunacy :/,i still really miss it though & after seeing the pic of your R1 it bought the memories back,i started with an AR50,RD125,RD250LC >:) ,RD350LC then my first big bike FZR600,i love streetfighters so my second FZR i rebuilt with a VFR400 s/sided s/arm renthal bars ect, nice bike but wrote it off on a slippery road & that was enough for me:/ will i get one again? maybe :)

  • Oh GOD!!! I cried in fear just watching this, my therapist told me to watch spider videos to help me overcome serious phobia, but I just can't seem to do it proper!!

  • ewwwwwwwwww

  • I share my office with three Tegenaria like this for a month now.

    They are adorable.

  • @plazmacyaen they truly are,now you can feed em up X)

  • I have a huge irrational fear of these. They are beautiful creatures, and I envy your ability to handle it!:)

  • arent they poisenous?

  • WHY WOULD YOU PICK THAT UP?! Crazy people!!! Im so itching all over now, eugh!

  • @courtez22

He and myself(along with many, many others) are fascinated by these beautiful creatures. It's a joy to encounter them.

You read the topic title, you shouldn't of clicked on the video.

  • Lol i get lots of these in my home. I handle them myself a lot :)

  • ARCEY78..We have many of the one you are HANDELING! Wow..See I can't. Glass on top and then out the front door.. I had one thrown in my face as a child..He probs likes your hairy arms and wanted to make a nest! LOL. Fascinating to watch..I could just about deal with it. From 37 Uk man. lol

  • thanks for that. i am really scared of these big ones and guilty as sin as i am i have just killed one cos it came running out from under my chest of drawers in the bedroom and freaked me out.i admire that you aren't afraid and can handle them.i wish i could.the thing is i am actually fascinated with them and watch the programmes on discovery etc.they are amazing creatures and how they spin their webs is brilliant but these big pappas scare me to death.maybe one day i'll be able to let them be

  • nice video. I'll try to handle one next time I catch one around. I've been trying to help those trapped in sink, with a sheet of paper usually. The clip just gives me more confidence. Thanks for sharing:)

  • @wangjingyu your welcome .

  • and its only a male (you can see by the swolen ends of its pedipalps) .... the females are even bigger

  • These fuckers scare the shit out of me, the way they move how fast they move, the 'fangs'.... *shudder*

  • @MegaLolburger

You can't even see the fangs in this video lol

  • @nicolevins 0:30 Those things at the front, dunno what they are they look like fangs lol...

  • @MegaLolburger They are called "pedipalps" and spiders use them to catch prey and clean themselves. Think of them as "hands" :P

  • @nicolevins Ah right, i've always called them fangs, even though i knew they weren't xD

  • Hey ARCEYE78,

I'm from the UK and get these in my house a lot. I wouldn't say that I have a phobia as I catch them and release them but I'm certainly affraid of handling them and getting bitten. Something which I want to overcome.

Have you ever been bitten by a house spider like the one in the vid? If so, what does it feel like? I'm no stranger to pain but if I expect to get nipped then i'm less likely to jump in surprise and injure the spider.

    Cheers, Tom

  • @WTRoutines i have not been bitten and doubt i ever will but i have heard from others on here that have,i personally would not worry & would not expect it to hurt very much at all, if at all !!,i handle these on a regular basis since i was a child & have never had any probs, their venom is not dangerous to us & the likelyhood of one breaking the skin is very very low, like any creature you need to be aware that they will defend themselves if threatened, just be carefull & gentle :)

  • @WTRoutines and one more thing if your likely to suffer from anaphylactic shock from any form of sting then be very aware of the dangers that any creature with venom no matter how low risk could still pose a threat if all is good then go for it :)

  • @ARCEYE78 Thanks for your quick response mate. Take care :-)

  • I'd like to handle these beauties but I squashed one before now trying to pick them up accidentally and damaged the leg. I don't handle them now just look at them very closely or in books, it's safer for them I think. But great find and decent size the UK's biggest spider right our homes and we just throw them out or in some extreme cases step on them! Shame on you spider haters!

  • @MetusModus great comment mate & your very right as unless your very careful they can be hurt all to easy,my mrs does not like em but i get my daughter 6 who loves handling them but not pick em up & my boy 3 will also handle them but not so confidently,i will not have my kids grow up with unnecessary fears,i teach them whats dangerous and whats not including plant life,it all starts from this young age,im so surprised how many people have this phobia, its such a shame as theyre missing out.

  • Got one of these stalking my house at the minute, think its stealing cat food

  • GOOD GOD MAN ARE YOU INSANE? IT WAS CRAWLING ON YOUR STOMACH. AHHHHHHHH!

  • @VagileDolphin ive had these crawl on my neck before....really tickles X)

  • dude, that is the most disgustingt hing ive ever seen, i cant sleep at night with them in my room lol, where did you find the bollocks to pick that fucker up haha

  • how are you not terrified of that?

  • I think this is a male who is searching for a female.

You can recognize the males on their copulation organs on their heads, and their fairly small tummy and huge legs.

The females having a big tummy, also big legs, but no copulation organs on the head.

Almost with all spider types/rages, the females are a little or much bigger than the males, but in the most cases the males are clearly more beautifull......

Same with this rage, they're looking absolutely more scary than the bigger females..

  • @43447 thanks for the informative comment :)

  • @ARCEYE78 You're welcome mate...

  • @Marsden117 you need to confront your fears and slowly allow spiders to get close to you or you to get closer to them, they are frightened of you and will try their best to get away from you,go out in the garden & study them in their webs, feed em flies and just allow yourself to get used to the look of them and how they move then possibly handle a few if they keep still enough & with time your arachnophobia should slowly get better, the fact you wanna sort it is a great start, good luck :)

  • i currently have one that would fill the palm of my hand quite easily in my bedroom as i type this. i'm taking refuge in the living room on the family pc, whilst my dad vacuums it and the two other spiders he found up. sure, i'd love for them all to be released, but sadly none of us are as brave as the man in this video. ._.

  • @TehUberCyberBeast well just dont look too close X)

  • oh your one brave person. even watching this makes me wanna cry.

  • dude ...burn that bitch

  • Respect! I'd die doing this. I envy people who arent afraid of spiders. I know my fear is totally irrational.

  • Eek, get it out!

  • um do they have a nasty bite on them then?

  • @foomidins if your a fly...yes :) i have been told of people being bitten by them although i have never been bitten and i handle them a lot, generally the fangs cannot break the skin and even if they do it will not harm you.

  • ARCEYE78 I LIKE HANDLING SPIDERS, IM NORMALLY THE ONE WHO IS SAVING THEM. UR THE COOL 1 :)

  • @Claptonisgod777 Ha haa thanks mate, well you too, no fear NO FEAR!!! X)

  • I have 5 big as this one currently in my really small bed room. im not usually afraid but NOW I CANT SLEEP. I try to catch them but they are so fast! So i just vacuum them

  • @Kennylol But take the spiders away and the dirty flies will crawl over your face after previously sampling the neigbours dogs fresh sqeezed poo :/ spiders are goooood

sorry i could not resist X)

  • do they bite cuz it looks like it has fangs or what ever they are called?

  • How can you have that on your hand!?!?!?! So creepy. There's no dangerous spiders in Britain, right?

  • @scottishchik no dangerous NATIVE spiders but it has been known for the odd tropical one to get over in fruit and other produce but they generally dont survive here due to our crap weather ....tooooo cold :)

  • OMG its the twin of the 1 i got out my room last night... totally shit myself, ok i lied my hubby got it out lol... still it was scary iv never seen 1 so big before, thanks for this video i was really worried the 1 he caught last night was deadly, yeah typical women

  • @GoldenWench LOL!! looks can be deceiving.

  • i saw one of these on the wall next to my bed. head level. i could have done with your bravery. im fine with spiders outside, but in my house, i dont think so.

  • am from scotland, an yea these little fuckers are fast an jus appear out of nowhere. however they dont bite but on one occasion i was pissin a huge one off in its web with a pencil an it was gettin its fangs out an bitin the pencil, i could actually feel it bitin!

  • i fucking hate spiders mate thats why i prefer the cold winters when the spiders aint out and about
