  • 7:49 nice timing

  • Hmmm... now there is a chance that the technodrome isn't in that location but is in another sewer.

I've had it change locations a few times while playing. As a kid I played the game so much I found every damn variation. It's frustrating to 'know' where to go only to be shown you're wrong with a dick move. There's no indication if it's in the normal location or another sewer.

  • @xenxander Really? I've never seen it in another location.

  • @AqualungGameReviews

well watch this video. The Technodrome is in the center top location instead:

its Adamwinters <~ his youtube name, and his video is:

TMNT1: Single Turtle; Raphael (Level 5)

youtube won't let me post the link directly.

  • Also there's that glitch that if his mouth is open, go to the turtle select screen and back - his mouth will be 'shut' but not really and you can hit the orb. He'll re-open his mouth, just go back to turtle select again and repeat, using down to attack straight up without having to jump and potentially hit the mouser's head, which causes you to take damage. This glitch I've never seen anyone point out, so maybe i'll post it soon - TO THE EMULATOR!

  • A few things. The first two buildings in stage three.. yes you can ignore them but they have scrolls in them and that's the best place to go in and out many times to stock up and having them for the technodrome makes it far easier.

the place of area 13 that you said is pointless, just go through it, a captured turtle can be there, I've seen him. I might admit that was a glitch of some type and it's not normal but I have seen it.

The mouser, just stand under him with don, don't have to jump.

  • Wow, excellent implementation of the Metal Gear Solid "you've been spotted" theme. Although kind of a let-down to find out the only penalty is a single damn Foot Soldier. >_>

  • you dont have to jump at this big mouse thing if you use donatello so you dont get damage.

  • Dude ur sarcasim was on point. I felt the same way over the gap. Killer lines man

  • Great closing line...

  • Dude great walkthrough! I loved the Metal Gear music you added. It just shows how much effort you put in to this!

  • Also, at 7:30 when you're fighting the robot boss thing, it's a little bit of a glitch, if you pause the game while his mouth is open, you can upause it and his mouth with remain slightly open so you can stand under him with Don and just unload on him. I played this game all the time when I was a kid and could never beat it, i just downloaded it for wii and am still stuck at the LAST LEVEL!! ARG

  • To add to your walkthrough, around 6:30 you walk in sewer 13 and you say "There's litterally nothing here". If you have a turtle captured, you can get him back in that sewer.

  • this Turtles Game SUCKS.

  • OH GOD DAMMIT!

It was so simple to just walk over the gap!

    I've been stuck for hours!!!!!

    Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • right im at the underground base at the footsoliders door when i go in its just an empty room? how do you fight the terrordome? im playing on my nes btw not a emulator. HELP

  • These walk-throughs sound like they're being given by a wise-guy. I like your style, Aqualung.

  • I love the commentary! Just great!

  • i remember when i was younger that sometimes the technodrome wouldnt be there, was i just in the wrong room r did this actually happen? and if it did, any1 have any ideas why

  • cool he metioned avgn

  • Isn't the alert song is from the MGS 1 remake?

  • You don't need to jump to beat the big mouser. You can just stand in the middle and push up and B with Donatello. You don't even have to look at the TV.

Another important point: Pizza respawns when you leave areas, so anytime there's a pizza near an entrance or exit, you can refill everybody's health.

Finally, when you're fighting the Technodrome, you can destroy the hatch that the enemies jump out of. After that you're pretty much safe in that fight.

  • are you planning on reviewing metroid?

  • i cracked up at the metal gear solid reference

  • heres a good tip I only jus this minute figured. If you go into the first building with the rockets and collect all the pizzas and rockets. Then leave the buildin and reenter they will all magically reappear. (p.s I have the european version called teenage mutant HERO turtles, but it should still work on the U.S TMNT version)

  • Man Fuck this game, I always die at the technodrome

  • In area 5 the guy that becomes a ball remindes me the alien from alien

  • 5:06 Why aren't you fighting Bebop and Rocksteady here? That's obvious; you killed them both in the first level!

  • @petercharleskrug I meant why not here INSTEAD of the first level. Putting the two of them together as a double-team boss makes more sense than having those 2 clowns.

  • @AqualungGameReviews I got what you meant. Right on, great game review. I played this is a kid for ever and ever and I could never get past the second part. Thanks for solving a childhood mystery for me. Fucking frustrating game.

  • All the best video games came out before 1995

  • I WANT THIS GAME

  • at 2:20 i found if you time the jump just right you can reach the right side ledge from the bottom.

  • At 2:20 i found if you time the jump just right you can reach the right side ledge from the bottom.

  • "Duuuhh I guess we'll put a whole pizza between the crushers in level 4 so one can ever get to it",proof that Konami and Ultra were on drugs that day

  • @dorourke105 Ultra is Konami, Ultra was a company created by Konami to get around the law then that they could only release so many games a year in the USA, Don't ask me why they could only make so release so many games a year.

  • even with a walkthrough.. this game is a bitch. no wonder i couldnt complete it when i was 10 years old. at 24 im ready for taking a hammer to my wii

  • @columboIV I'm 24 and I've finally beaten this hard peice of shit!

  • i love this game ^^, so many memories.

    Awesome review/walkthrough.

    (really liked the "mgs" sound)

  • In Area 3, inside that first set of buildings that you pass by (see 3:02), youll find a super weapon (that scroll). Its easier to enter from the right. Work your way through the rooms, grab the weapon, then simply jump into the water once you each the sewer, then re-enter the building to get another one. I like to get Mike & Raph loaded with these before moving on, theyre great for the final level of the game. Itll take a little while to get Mike & Raph loaded up, but its kinda worth it.

  • I just wanted to let you know that in Area 4,Sewer number 13 contains a Fallen turtle if you lost one.

  • In reference to the cutscene and the scene in the movie>>

It's from the original black and white comics at the beginning of #3 the turtles come home and find the lair in ruins and Splinter missing.

Konami based the games on the camp cartoon show but did take a few things from comics in the games incluing the cover of the game w/ all red masks.

the movie took the same approach mixing the two versions together. Except in the books it was mousers not the Foot that trashed the lair.

  • 2:20 I remember renting this game a long time ago and when AVGN pointed out you can walk across, i had the same expression he did because the missiles where the only reason i could not progress and those gaps are the most bullshit thing ever, that and the game itself is a frustrating piece of shit.

  • "Shredders obviously in the room behind a cardboard cutout disguised as a TV" lmao

  • LOL@comments with Shredder talking to the Turtles "behind" the TV!

  • they need to bring back the old school ninja turtle games

  • 7:50 that shit sounds damn near identical to the music on Metal Gear Solid when you get spotted

  • Uhm, yeah, he did that on purpose, lol!

  • 7:14 LOL Just about EVERY gamer has pointed that infamous pizza box.

  • Please give us an in-depth explanation on how he's an "AVGN Wannabe."

  • He doesn't have a reason, he's just seen the words TMNT review and made that fanboyish comment. I love the AVGN but he's not the only person that has/can review TMNT.

  • Agreed 100%.

  • This is a demure and thourough venture through the game, and primarily without humourous intention -- so it isn't even in the same vein.

He also alludes that some of the game's quirks were covered sufficiently and decides to not to waste words on it.

The only blatant ripoff on this topic has been done by Chris the Bore.

  • It looks exactly like the scene from the movie Aqualung!

  • in the sewer you entered at 6:28 you can rescue a captured turtle.

  • This review/walkthrough was WICKED PISSAH.

  • at least you do a walkthrough instead of a just a review

  • "someone decided to put a pizzaugh nevermind" lol that was awsome

  • LOL to the AVGN pizza reference at 7:12. Good work on these reviews keep it up.

  • lmao with the metal gear thing xD

  • there is a glitch on the boss of level 4 where you can pause and unpause when his mouth opens then you can attack it anytime. Its cheap but makes him able to beat with no damage

  • Great walkthrough fella! This game...looking at it not..yeh it is awful..but there is still something nostalgic about it that makes it my fav game of alltime!! Tho i have never tried, that anoying pizza which was put in at 7.13... is there any way of ducking in the gaps by the exit to get it..? I have never tried, but just wondered??

  • about that pizza. It is a fact that there is no way to get it and not die. Just a cruel trick the game designers put in there. I share your pain in hating it :)

  • "Intersections, buildings and steamrollers up the ass." I love your commentary.

  • you got a funny voice and this is a funny review 5 stars!

  • Holy crap. I could never get passed that electricity stuff on the Technodrome. All I had to do was DUCK!?!?!?!?!?

  • Great walkthrough man, especially with all the skippin' parts

  • 7:50 u got caught!

  • Also, there are several ways to grab a pizza near a level entrance, leave area, go back, grab pizza, wash, rinse, repeat, full health turtles!

  • Hey i need to other turtles where are they??

  • There is no need to feel bad my friend.Everyone falls for the gap trick. And why does every keep talking about the pizza box mistake they made in this game?

  • I mentioned the pizza box as a joke. That's why I cut myself off and said "nevermind." ;)

  • I would have thought it was very funny still if you said it anyway because I think about it also.

  • when i get teh ropes, how do I use them- i've forgotten which buttons to push on the roofs.

  • You don't press any, the turtle automatically uses the rope.

  • You make this game sound 100 times hard =p i beatin this game when i was a kid great game but a pain in ass

  • @AqualungGameReviews how i have the game i cant use it

  • @AqualungGameReviews Yeah, the pizza box IS kinda redundant at this point. ;-)

  • Awesome referance to the AVGN with the suicide pzza thing. Also, the MGS thing was hilarious!

  • I feel the AVGN and Aqualung...what jackass thought it would be funny to put pizza in a suicide area...i bet to this very day they're laughin their asses off.

  • You sound like ericmansuper....or he sounds like you....who knows...

  • Actually best item to fight the double boss fight in area 3 is the scrolls

  • I've never played any MG game, so could someone tell me what exactly is the pizza quote referencing?

  • Glad I'm not the only one felt like a total chump when it came to that freaking gap! As if the jumping intersection wasn't bad enough.

  • heh MGS reference XD!

  • lol...he was about to quote the avgn at after 7;10

  • COOL

  • For some reason parts 1 and 3 have high quality options but this one doesn't... still a good series of videos none-the-less.

  • What kind of airport has underground basements with fire and spikes?

  • You know, when battling the Technodrome, you can keep the Foot Soldiers from coming out by breaking the hatch.

  • Shredder talked through the TV in the fifth episode of the show telling them that he had a retro-mutagen ray to return Splinter to his human form and challenged the turtles to get it.

  • "Somebody decided to put a pizza...heh, nevermind."

XDDD I guess there's no use beating a dead horse, so to speak, so...but that's still funny.

  • There was a glitch that, when you pause whenever the big mouser's weak point was exposed, the orb is still there, though the big mouser's mouth will be closed.

  • The other building in the dark area is very good place to go to as there is a small pizza quite close to the entrance. I always use that place to get the Turtles healthy again. There are one or two of those robot spiders or whatever they are and the fastest way to kill those is with Raphael. So, get into the building with Raphael, walk to the right, kill the enemy, grab the pizza (change to the turtle with the least amount of energy), leave, repeat... I found it very handy.

  • I might be wrong about the amount of enemies but with Raphael (believe or not) it's easy to get the small pizza without losing energy at all.

  • I knew you were going to do the Metal Gear thing... Nice touch.

  • On a similar note, I think the Area 5 overworld BGM would have fit in perfectly on either the NES or MSX Computer version of Metal Gear.

  • Oh man I take back what I said in the video, Area 5 overworld is the best song in the game. I don't know how I spaced that out haha.

  • Glad to see that I'm not alone in liking it.

  • "someone decided to put a pizz...heh nevermind"

at least you avoided the controversy haha. well done. keep em' coming.

  • Do the otner Megaman games.

  • You forgot to mention that the technodrome is in a different location each time you play.

  • That's news to me, I've played through the game a few times and it was always in the same place.

  • Oh my god! It's METAL GEAR MOUSER!

  • I assume the same people at Konami that ported Metal Gear 1 to the NES also had a hand at the programming and character designs of this game.

  • Gotta love it when Konami spreads its love.

Why I do believe that Vic Viper appeared on the Genesis Animaniacs as well!

  • I gotta play that game now!

  • Did you actually get lucky and find the technodrome on your first try? It is random which cave it's in, and its a pain in the ass if you pick the wrong one.

This game is short but it will put your balls to the wall for sure.

  • Strangely enough I did get lucky and find it on the first try. But I did get my ass kicked pretty hard on the way there.

  • I give you props for just being able to kick this game's ass at all...

    great review!

  • Sheesh. Who shrunk the technodrome? I remember that sucker being MUCH bigger in the cartoon.

  • LOL Metal Gear!

You Rock, Aqualung! btw the reason why the sceen in the game and the movie were Splinter is kidnapped are so semilar is because both sceens are based on a sceen from an early issue of the comics.

  • "someone decided to put a pizz...heh nevermind"

    you rock so much aqualung

  • OMG Metal Gear Turtles lulz.

  • Hehe, I knew there would be that pizza prank. It never get's old man! Awesome! Now, onto part 3!!!

  • It wasn't a complaint, it was a joke/reference.

  • oh ok well hey sorry

  • Next time learn how to take a joke. I thought it was quite funny that you Aqualung just nearly avoided that joke.

  • awesome!!

  • I always get confused in stage 3 there. Thanks for the info.

  • "someone decided to put a pizz...heh nevermind"

    i lol'd

  • MG reference was awesomely funny!
