This video was filmed in Australia on the anniversary of the day that our Federal government had amended the Marriage Act to explicitly exclude the recognition of same-sex unions. Our Constitution states that the Federal government has "exclusive jurisdiction over the formation of marriages", so unfortunately our states cannot legislate on marriage.

While I do not consider myself to be a religious person, I do believe in a 'God' or an equivalent higher power. I also believe that this 'higher power' doesn't hate me. After all, I'm not hurting anyone.

I find it interesting that your earlier quote was from the 'New International Version' - a modern 'interpretation' of the bible. I should point out that the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts make no mention of homosexuality. In fact, the concept of sexual orientation (and the words used to define it) weren't developed until the late 19th century.
Lynn Lavner is a comedian, whose 'interpretation' of the bible is not uncommon. In fact, it was a Christian Reverend who performed the loving vows ceremony shown in this video - a Reverend whose church does not discriminate against people on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, identification, nationality, or economic status.

Taiwan, Thailand, and Japan are known to be very gay friendly although they need to get on that same sex marriage movement. China is also tolerant as well. Note - California did have same-sex marriage for a while (between June 2008 and November 2008), the 18,000 are still in effect. Prop 8 was upheld by a Cout case.

If a child were to grow up in a gay household, that child would become confused and would have permanent psychological defects. Having two daddies or two mommies, the child would wonder where is mommy? Where is daddy? Because there would not be a male or female parental figure in the same sex marriage. It is up to the state governments who have far more power than Washington to legislate, amend, and to define marriages in their Constitutions. Massachusetts is the only state that allows such marriages, but Vermont, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Iowa, and Washington state allow civil unions.

I respect that this is what you believe in and that "preaching the gospels" is a requirement of your belief in the bible.
But why then are you selective in what you preach? Why is the opposition of loving gay relationships more important to you than opposing crimes like murder or rape? Doesn't the bible also speak against these things? You list The Sopranos (a billboard for criminal behaviour) as one of your favourite TV shows!

Tony Soprano is the perfect example of a man trying to solve his own problems through both murder and psychiatry. His life is consumed with sin and yet he feels he is not a bad person. He claims to be a good Catholic but not walk in the way of Christ. Tony Soprano's only way out is Jesus Christ but he seeks any other avenue BUT Christ. It's a great series that shows "man's" hopelessness in a world filled with sin and corruption.

It seems to me that Tony Soprano is the perfect example of most 'christians' - the kind of people who selectively follow the bible.

Genesis 9:6 -- God prohibits the murder of men because they were created in His image ??
Perhaps you need to reassess your priorities. Whilst you are putting energy into fighting against harmless unions between people who love each other, you are not helping to reduce the REAL evils like murder!

Every minute I preach about social change or injustice is another minute that someone falls into eternity without Christ. 150,000 will die today in the world. Most of those will face Judgment without Christ as their mediator. The results will be eternal separation from God and Hell for many.

You missed my point.
Less people would be able to commit the sin of murder if guns were banned. AND less people would die if guns were banned. THEREFORE, banning guns saves both the sinners and the victims from "falling into eternity without Christ".
Gay marriage has no victims. And lobbying against gay marriage won't ever stop gay people loving each other. So why don't you focus your energy on something you actually can stop?

The article is classified under the "LGBT and Queer studies series" because it documents a specifically homosexual historical phenomenon, in the same way that the "Atlantic slave trade" is classified under the "African American portal". By your logic, does this mean that slavery is sanctioned by the African American community?

That is because pedophilia is not specifically heterosexual, whereas pederasty is defined as being "between adult and adolescent males" - which is why the topic is related to the "LGBT and Queer studies" section of Wikipedia (the 'portal' you speak of). If you're going to cite Wikipedia, you actually have to read the articles and learn how to interpret the information presented.

Making a law that homosexuals would be allowed to marry would legitimize homosexuality. It would make it easier for them to adopt boys. thats what this has to do with homosexual marriage. Homosexuality has already been 'legitimized' throughout most of the world because it IS LEGAL (this includes Australia and the US). Your argument is focused on what COULD happen AFTER gay marriage is legalized, rather than why gay marriage itself should not be legalized. There are already laws in place to prevent child abuse, bestiality and incest. How is gay marriage going to somehow make any of these things more acceptable?

not true, they were going by TOTAL molestation statistics. If you do it correctly you find that homosexuals are only a small part of the population, yet they commit 21% molestation. If you look at the totals, it looks like the homos commit less, but thats not correct if they would do math correctly.

However, a number of studies and observations based on child molestation statistics have also discounted your myth (Carole, J. 1994; US Department of Health and Human Services, 1999).

In 1987, Dr. Stephen Rubin of Whitman College conducted a ten-state study of sex abuse cases involving school teachers. He studied 199 cases. Of those, 122 male teachers had molested girls. He also discovered that 59 homosexual male teachers had molested boys and four female homosexual teachers had molested girls. In other words, 32 percent of those child molestation cases involved homosexuals. Nearly 1/3 of these cases come from only 1-2% of the population.

Dr. Judith Reisman describes the research done by Dr. Gene Abel. In a sample of 153 homosexual molesters, they confessed to a total of 22,981 molestations. This is equivalent to 150 children per molester. Self-admitted heterosexual molesters admitted to 4,435 molestations. This comes to 19.8 victims per molester. Dr. Abel concluded that homosexuals "sexually molest young boys at an incidence that is occurring 5 times greater than the molestation of girls."

The fact that you copied the text *exactly* as it is written on the website is what makes it plagiarism. I'm not disputing that these are documented studies. But if you take a better look at the sources these Christian websites are citing, you'll find that the results are often quoted out of context or completely misrepresented.

While I do not consider myself to be a religious person, I do believe in a 'God' or an equivalent higher power. I also believe that this 'higher power' doesn't hate me. After all, I'm not hurting anyone.
I appreciate hearing the view-points of these so-called 'Christians' towards a video that I personally feel promotes equality and love. One day I hope they'll eventually realize that it's actually what Jesus Christ was preaching.

I should point out that the original Hebrew, Aramaic and Greek texts make no mention of homosexuality. In fact, the concept of sexual orientation (and the words used to define it) weren't developed until the late 19th century.
