I played Ballz on my sisters 3DO the same time I got my playstation. And Ballz was a fun game. Did NC17 sat down and really play it or just like every other reviewer they just need something to bitch at regardless if the game is good or not.
Ballz 3D is pretty mediocre though. The game's overall style was pretty amusing, I guess; like when you beat a guy, he'd explode and his balls would all roll around you in a circle as you danced. The gameplay was similar to those old 3D fighting games like Virtua Fighter.

My theory of AVGN E-begging for the "movie" even though he already has enough money from other sources.
Rolfe is in his 30, probably not in a "steady" profession outside youtube. He know sooner or later the game review fad will be over, so thus he collect this huge amount of money, just to break in (or buy himself in) Hollywood, so that he can secure a future as a movie director. Doesn't matter if he is in Uwe Boll level, he just want to buy/secure a seat in Hollywood career. This is my 2 cent.
Only time will see, when the movie is "finished" and then if its flop (90% it will) amongs film critics also if any cinema will show it or is it straight to DVD is a make or break for him. If it make, he might be a one hit wonder and then making dvd movies. If it fails? Dunno what happens, might be working as an FX guy or back to youtube and milk out AVGN till Youtube is being replace with some new technology.

These are the kind of reviewers who would call Pong a bad and horrible game because it doesnt have the graphics and audio found in games like Gears of Wars 3, Red Dead Redemption and etch... My theory of AVGN E-begging for the "movie" even though he already has enough money from other sources.
Rolfe is in his 30, probably not in a "steady" profession outside youtube. He know sooner or later the game review fad will be over, so thus he collect this huge amount of money, just to break in (or buy himself in) Hollywood, so that he can secure a future as a movie director. Doesn't matter if he is in Uwe Boll level, he just want to buy/secure a seat in Hollywood career. This is my 2 cent.

Only time will see, when the movie is "finished" and then if its flop (90% it will) amongs film critics also if any cinema will show it or is it straight to DVD is a make or break for him. If it make, he might be a one hit wonder and then making dvd movies. If it fails? Dunno what happens, might be working as an FX guy or back to youtube and milk out AVGN till Youtube is being replace with some new technology.

These are the kind of reviewers who would call Pong a bad and horrible game because it doesnt have the graphics and audio found in games like Gears of Wars 3, Red Dead Redemption and etch... Also, I don't even understand why he's doing an AVGN movie. He says it will take years to finish and people are losing interest now. Why would he invest so much into a movie about this youtube character he created (and now clearly hates) when in say, 3 years from now that it gets finished, absolutely no one would care? He should just make a good movie. He's done short ones in the past that are pretty good. This is such a waste.

Aw, I'm an old AVGN fan but I admit I've lost so much interest in whatever he does now. I'll occasionally catch a video of his to watch on youtube but I don't visit his site daily anymore like I used to. I guess he knew the "angry reviewer" fad would wear off soon enough and it did because of losers like NC17 and the other forgettables trying to profit from it. It still stings me for some reason when he gets mocked. I don't know why.
