  • Made for *beginners*. It doesn't matter what the teachers looks like, only just how she is teaching. The student is trying hard, but still learning herself; keep that in mind. People, have at least some consideration and manners when commenting. Show some respect! BTW the word pronounation are mostly fine, it is just misspelled.

  • This teacher is appalling! If the catastrophically bad pronunciation of echappe wasn't enough, her student's technique is not right, and yet she is praising her! My teacher would have my head if my posture were so sloppy. Her arms are terribly stiff and incorrectly placed... Oh mon Dieu!

  • Her echappes is really wrong.

  • these videos are teribal

  • she looks like a constipated monkey .....

  • perche ? perche infangare il nome della danza classica in questo modo !...........

  • nicely demonstrated....thank you so much. :)

  • ballet dancers are swans not elephants (comment on the noise she makes when she lands...)

  • OMFG! This is not dance!

  • She kinda sucks a lot

  • i am going to start balllet soon so this will help me alot!!!

  • dear me. i haven't even done ballet in like, 4 years? and my sautes could kick her sautes butts. just saying :)

  • GUH i felt nauseous watching this

  • ... this is kinda embarrassing but.. im pretty busty, im 14 and im not sure if ballet is right for me? I wanna start taking classes soon, but looking at all these jumps.... I think you get my point... Would it still be okay for me to try it? :)

  • @Lovebites2014 Sure you can do ballet! But I'm 14 too but I've started pointe work already for 2 years so you'll be behind on that but you can do ballet at any age! Just look around for a beginners class for your age. (Don't worry im a bit busty too!) Ballet is super fun! But giving a more realisitc stand point it's going to be hard if you haven't had previous training but if you a dedicated person you'll catch up soon enough :D

  • @kawaiipapillon Thanks! Im a really quick learner, and very passionate. But im a C cup.... : / Isnt that a bit much?

  • @Lovebites2014 Well.... I'm an A cup... Going on B but wat I do is i hold them down at night haha xD or u can buy a leotard with a bra attatchment to help them look nicer

  • @kawaiipapillon haha, thank you! I mean I like being... big? but it kinda sucks since im still so young :p

  • @Lovebites2014 Well you never know because young girls who develop quickly may show signs of shrinking aroun 16-17 also if u are too busty the weight (haha) can distort your everyday posture making it harder on you, wear a bra with a litte extra support

  • ... this is kinda embarressing but.. im pretty busty, im 14 and im not sure if ballet is right for me? I wanna start taking classes soon, but looking at all these jumps.... I think you get my point... Would it still be okay for me to try it? :)

  • yikesss! i cringed everytime she jumped. put your heels down for goodness sakes!

  • lol so what if shes not a prima ballerina... if u wana learn ballet or you think your better join a class or shut up and post your own videos.

  • Comment removed

  • DONT DOUBLE BOUNCE!!!!! and wtf is with the subtitles! spelling!

  • Ok first of all she didn't do an echappe. she just jumped out ti 2nd postion and then jumped back to first. and in the captions u didn't spell echappe or saute right. :P

  • wow. this girl REALLY cant dance....

  • None of these videos seem proffesional. I know I only did ballet from about the age of 10 to 13 but surely, this can't be any good?

The teacher doesn't look enthusiastic at all. She could at least stand up straight.

No offence on the dancer too, she's a bit heavy :/

I blame that woman though! Doesn't look like she'd be a very ellegant dancer at all, to me.

    Teachers should set an example...

  • @innocence968

the dancer is not "heavy" at all... maybe she just appears that way because of her poor dance attire. But this girl is most certainly not fat in any way.

  • what a beautiful first position...

  • arent u suppose to land in fifth position? to go from second then fifth?

  • @redpixiesprinkles

that's usually the case, although you can do echappes from many positions.

  • maybe you should check the spelling on the subtitles. last time i checked you dont spell them soteas and achipaes thats for surre. poor beginners learning this...

  • i dunno if you spelled echappe right..but anyways when you go from second to first in them the arms should come down to low first otherwise yoy look like a robot..and can i ask these two lovely women if they have something against buns and proper ballet attire? pink tights, black leotard and clean ballet shoes..a little makeup perhaps if your feelin good:)

  • y do you guys do these vids. every dancer already knows these moves cause theyre the basics we need to know. thats also y we have teachers, the real experts.

  • Terrible Video!

Shamed on you - teacher!! - you should know better, or you should not be a teacher! and putting "this" on internet!!!

  • she suuuucks

  • i recently took intrest in ballet so i dont know anything about this /:

  • @sonicxisforever mee too

i want to start as a beginner at 17 do you think is to late :/

  • Definitely not (Unless you want to be a professional)! I started ballet at 17 and never studied any form of dance prior to that.

    Go for it!

  • @sonicxisforever sorry this wasnt me, someone else on my account posted a comment on this video.

  • at least they said all of the ballet terms right. and she might have wanted to consider more turnout and putting her heels down when she lands. but this is not and actual ballet site. so they really are trying there best.

  • this girl has the potential to be incredibly good, but this teacher is teaching her it all wrong. the sautes are awful, her ankles should be together the whole time when in first position. and also, why idnt this poor girl in proper ballet gear?

  • i agree with guiy16 and oknajsasuke this is really bad

  • lol im doing it at second position and i look like a frog

  • wackowx~~~~ u r aware of the fact tht u commented on a video so r u contradicting yourself or are u just plain stupid

  • i am not a professional dancer....iam at 3th grade but i can find about thousend things that this girl is doing wrong! maybe it is for begginers, but i am sure that they are not idiots!well i wasnt...

  • OH MY GOD. It's embarassing!

  • loool

  • omg...

  • she has hitchhiker hands!

  • U SUCK :)

  • hahaha "toes turned out" lolol and shes very loud, come down softer! toe ball heel

  • im not an expert but my teacher always says to plie when u come down to make u land softer and to prevent hurting urself. i think this teacher shuld mention tht since its for begginners and they may not know

  • i rock back on to my heels a little bit when i do this. :P

  • nevermind.

    haha.

  • do you know people:

the plié it'd enough, she just need to star using her feets better, for get a litele bit more impulse.

the arms you make the combination that you want, so it's fine.

and the coming back to second it depends of what you are working, and the combination is right.

and it depends of school wanting to people be ahs they wan't...

and more she is teaching basic steps and the girls is not a professional dancer,

    so congratulations..

  • she doesn't use enough pleay (i'm sorry! i don't take french and barely write combinations down) so she's gonna ruin her achilles

  • You're brutal! She's good... and I know good!

  • lmao i love how she goes back to first from second, ........... this is soooooo wrong! ....

  • 1.) pants are wayyy too long.

2.)plies arent big enough (both 1st and 2nd.)

3.)her 2nd is too big and she should tondue to get there and back to first. (sorry for the spelling)

4.)shouldnt her arms go through first and up and out to second?

5.) her hands are weird. all the fingers are together!!!

  • her heels are of the ground during landing ;)

  • how you gonna jump higher if you don't use your arms when you jump?

échappé should be with a port de bras to help you get off the floor, a full pdb no from 1st to 2nd... or maybe i was taught wrong?

  • Q Bosta.....Fukiuuuu

  • ya cant see her damn feet!!!

what kind of teacher lets you wear pants that hang over your feet in ballet?

  • her arms suck

  • I dont think it was that bad!! I reckon she's a good dancer. It looks good.. :D

  • first...that first position is really bad.....her second position is too big......and this is stupid... i am beginner and i do not do this things.....stupid :(((

  • Comment removed

  • omg, she's going to hurt herself if she keeps jumping like this, or worse if someone who wants to learn ballet starts jumping like her because of this video.

  • ahh! her heels never touch- future injury in the making. I dont want to sound snobby and I realize that this is for beginners but this is not a good outlet to teach classical ballet, especially if the people producing and teaching it are not well trained. ballet is a discipline that requires people that know what they are doing and know how to teach in a safe way that allows the person to dance as long as possible. This is just enabling people to injure themselves! Expert Village- stop this now!

  • hmm thats not beautiful... bad form :(

  • Ive only just started dance and im 13 they do tap.acro.jazz and ballet which is the hardest but i find it the most fun :P and it might not be right but it gives me an idea does anyone know a video that will help me with ballet?

  • u r not a good ballet dancer

  • I did not know that echappe' means to 'escape' very interesting!! Iam no beginner but I learned something new!!

    Thanks!!

  • "veeeery nice" o_O

    WTF

  • Oh dear.

    1) Pronounciation of echappe (not ey-chappey)

    2) Heels weren't touching the ground when she landed (very important)

    3) Arms just stay in one position or if a skirt, holding the skirt.

  • i agree with you!

  • @Hybrid587 agreed I've only been dancing for 4 years and I'm better :( I don't mind when people just mess around but it bothers me when people pretend to be professionals

  • @Hybrid587 her pronunciation isn't that bad. it's supposed to be "eesh-app-ay".

it's not normal to hold a skirt. arms in second is best - or bras bas like how she does.

  • she needs to make sure that she plies everytime and her heels touch the ground after the jump, otherwise you could really hurt you tendon..i think you can snap it if i heared correctly from someone who had problems with theirs?

  • I have a correction for the one who was demonstrationg: relax your thumbs... yes, it's a hard habit to break but it is essential, nobody likes the crab look

  • ahahhaha I cannot believe this woman is still in business. she was the worst teacher ever who ran a recital factory... and Im not the only one who thought so.. OMG shes embarressing herself.. the fact that she is using the best dancer she has, and thinks that what she is doing looks great.. goes to show why so many of her students were injured.

YOU SUCK and scare small children!

  • lol it's for beginners:)

  • well since it's for beginners they should show perfect technique because otherwise everyone will learn wrong

  • Beautiful?

  • There were quite a lot of minor mistakes within the jumps/armpositions and pronounciations.

Pronounciation is not what worries me. It's the fact that her heels do NOT touch the ground when she jumps.

This is a very importent techniek that all dancers should master. End in plié and with the hiels on the ground, or else you will damage your entire body, not just the knees.

Also if she would want to go on point, putting the heels down is importent.

Thats all from me, for now..

  • its beginning steps.

  • i love ballet i do it eveyday itis so fun

  • no.... just no

  • expert village my ass you trying hard bitch! the dancer can't even do oversplit standing or anything like one leg stand! trying hard filthy bitch! you're getting into my nerves!

  • whoah these videos are of a very bad quality.

I hope no one is actually trying to learn from these.

    very sloppy

  • Good luck with tendonitus. Get your heels to the ground.

Her arms stuck straight out in second!

  • Is it just just my ballet studio that says it different, or did she pronounce echappé wrong?

  • she can't pronounce any ballet terms correctly, watch some of the others - hilarious!

  • The heels of feet arent even touching the ground

  • also, echappé traditionally comes to fifth, she should mention that.

  • you have to get your entire foot on the ground. her heels are up

  • softer its was like, thud, thud, thud, thud

  • wtf!?

  • Plie-bend, Saute-spring, Echappe-escape.

We can all get rather critical of others, so lets take a closer look at ourselves & see where we need to improve.

  • she needs to jump higher and softer :s

  • her feet are too wide and shes too loud

  • when she jumps in first, her feet are too far apart

  • good not bad

  • her second position arms are too high. they don't look soft enough
