It turns out the symbol on these for a shrine is similar to a swastika. Sort of unfortunate. Sure surprised me the first time I saw it.

@taylornate2 You live and learn I guess. The swastika was in use in the USA by some corps. And by many other organisations around the World. Yeah the nazis kind of ruined it but let's be aware of it not being exclusively a nazi symbol.

My country had a swastika on military air planes before the nazis but they stopped using it, probably because it's too confusing and hard to explain. Similar swastikas are still used as kind of "medal of honour" symbols though - absolutely not a nazi thing.

pretty much the same as it is over here! Except the lady on the display! Wished our engineers where as playful as the Japanese ones! But I was wondering, if that traffic informations are most of the time up to date!? Because most of those warnings over here aren't up to date! So it happends that there is a warning, but the traffic jam has already dispersed!

the funny thing is that since almost everyone has a navigation system in his/her car, all the traffic jams get avoided but you still end up in one because EVERYONE chooses the same detour because of the nav :)

Since it's Japan, I wouldn't be surprised if the last part WASN'T a lie. - Love the rest of the features though; I don't use the navigation system installed in my mom's SUV when I drive it that much, but if it was anything like the one you just showed us, I'd be using it just to get to my neighbor's house a block up so that little chibi can bow at me.
