Hi, you added 3 cups rice, 3 cups water and 1 cup coconut milk. So thats 4 cups liquid to 3 cups rice. Normally when cooking plain rice the ratio of liquid to rice is 2:1. I guess its different with pelau. What should be the ratio of rice to liquid when making pelau?

the ratio of liquid to rice depends on what liquid, and what type of rice, for example, basmati rice does not need so much water when cooking, and it's usually a 1:1 cup ratio for water to rice. another thing, when making pelau, the liquid ur using isn't all water, which makes a difference, these liquids have solvents in them like coconut milk, and will dry out or cook faster than just water
