  • Certainly Perlman - the magnificent violinist! But the pianist isn't less ingenious!!!

  • Absolutely Spotless as Perlman always is

I was Wondering were the 4th movement was :D

  • I once lent my cd of this performance to a friend. She never gave it back. Needless to say, we're not friends anymore.

  • presto agitato starts at 3:14

  • I went to an Einstein superstrings lecture/concert and they told us that this was one of his favourite pieces, i can see why.

  • Perfect, just perfect!!

  • Brahms joué de mains de Maitre... par les plus grands....

    Merci à vous Maestros...

  • Classical: Interpretation is vastly varied compared to other genres.

  • I love the page turn at 4:16!!

  • @cjsquirl the page turn is at 5:16, but I knew exactly what you were talking about when I read your comment. Well done Barenboim!

  • @TurboTsunami19 Ah ...yes, at 5:16. Thank you for the correction! I think the forceful sound and rhythm nearly complements the music...

  • magnificent.

  • Brilliant. I wish i could play that well.

  • Es la dupla perfecta no podria decirse por que cuando 2 son muy buenos a veces se quieren opacar pero los 2 son muy complejos pero perlman toca de memoria daniel no jujuju!!!!!

  • Amazing....

  • The Jews have done soo much for classical music.

    Gorgeously romantic performance.

    Shalom.

  • Seb. Yes they have. :)

  • @SebastienLoong the human race has done a lot for music dumbass.

  • @anferlo I'm not denying that little fool, within the human race I'm complimenting the Jews, and not saying in anyway that they are higher than other people.

  • @SebastienLoong Talking about differences makes the differences exist

  • @anferlo true

  • @anferlo basically every famous classical violinist/ pianist/conductor/composer in modern times has been Jewish. Perlman, Zukerman, Oistrakh, Heifetz, Shaham, Barenboim, Horowitz, Rubinstein, Hofman, Bernstein, Copland, Glass, Reich. Of all the super-soloists of the world, it appears at least 30% are Jewish. Considering that Jews make up less than 0.02% of the world's population, it seems quite a coincidence, doesn't it

  • @sushidudeiscool There are some cultures around the world where the population rathers spending their money in certain things.... it's just artistic concience, They could have been russian, or japanese and nobody would had said that "oh jews!" crap

  • @sushidudeiscool YOU CAN also SAID ALSO THAT germans and italians are the best composers wich is also more important

  • Hello! It-s amazing to see this, i wonder if you can give me this copy of Brahms Sonata, on filehosting ,in High quality! I really need this, and I will thank you so much if you are so good. George from Romania

  • Absolutely Amazing!!! Brahms must have been totally in love when he wrote this piece.

  • You really understand the Romantic ideal. I agree.

  • Did Perlman look slightly upset about something at the end? Almost as if he missed a note? I heard nothing wrong with the performance, it is the best I have ever heard. Also, LOL at the pageturn at 5:15.

  • wonderful!

  • 有中国人吗

  • What a lovely conversation!

  • i think exactly the same

  • this is insanely good. Perlman makes it look easy.

  • Perlman plays this piece with better intonation and is cleaner than oistrakh. However, I much prefer Oistrakh's interpretation and intensity for this piece.

  • Perlman is never showy (like sometimes Vengerov) but nevertheless of a noble and powerful play. Both, Barenboim AND Perlman are fantastic.

  • Perlman is much better Vengerov.

There is no way to compare!

  • yeah he does in this video lol

  • no.sarkozy! lol

  • Barenboim is so good on this one. I would love to have accompanied Oistrakh. That would have been amazing.

  • Very compelling performance. I'm preparing this piece for a recital in December along with the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto and Kreisler Tambourin Chinois - this was extremely helpful for me, so thanks for posting it!

  • great playing

  • Bravo!!!!!

  • Really beautifull! The two are fantastic together.

  • Thanks a lot,rapmasterb123.

  • Are you going to post the final movement of "Presto agitato"? There should be 4 movements in Brahms' Violin Sonata No. 3 In D Minor, Op. 108.

    Thank you.

  • This video contains the last two movements. The "Presto agitato" begins at 3:15.

  • This is a very difficult piece, and these two play very well together however I almost feel that it would take a violinist with the verve of Maxim Vengerov to match Barenboim's intensity at the finale of this piece. Still...Bravo! The musicality is amazing.

  • True. I think that Maxim and Daniel have played this together. I saw a TV documentary with them playing this piece in Chicago. You are right. It was intense.

  • just playing it in two days in concert, one actually :) great ideas, too bad i can't change anything now...

  • rhythm and tempo anyone?

  • preparing this for work with a visiting violinist and really inspirational is Barenboim. Don't understand how they get perfect balance with a fully open piano, real challenge. Many thanks!!!
