  • I'm getting this set hopefully in a few days , um do u tune by ear or u use a dial

  • Do U recommend? need new drums still got a CB and I have gotten alot better at drumming and I have played pdp cx

  • Do u Recommend because I have an entry level CB an looking to upgrade for under 1000

  • What line of drums is that pdp double drive 8 piece on musiciansfriend?

  • I'm looking at this exact same kit with EC2's & everything. I've heard that, because it's such a small sized drum, the 8x7 tom with an EC2 on it sounds too controlled & choked off in relation to the other 4 toms. How do you feel it sounds in comparison to the rest of the toms? Would you recommend keeping an EC2 on it or looking for something with a bit more sustain like a G2 to match the sound of the other toms?

  • hey i am a professional drummer and i play on a x7 kit. When i went to upgrade my kit i played on them thinking they were DW because the hardware similarities Then i saw the price i was expecting 3 grand or better because they sure sounded that good. Of course i play top of the line cymbals and snare but the kick and toms on my kit sound better than anything you've ever played on. Evans G2 coated heads on toms Emad on kick Front and resonate side. Every sound guy that miced my kit drooled Audix!

  • you like to tune low huh?

  • the x7s are not an entry level kit..?

  • @SubliminalxGh0st Definitely not entry level....Mid range kit price wise....Top of the line sound wise.....my opinion.

  • @SubliminalxGh0st not really but if you got the money why not

  • hi I just order one at guitar center but I dont know if it comes with a clamp for the 8 x 7 tom. you play so good dude

  • what type of snare's head risonant?

  • To be honest, a drummer like you deserves a better drum kit (;

  • @TEDDYSTUDiOS24 Thanks. i think you can take an entry level kit, and with the proper tuning and heads, make it sound great. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part, any entry level Pearl, Tama, PDP, Mapex, Yamaha, Sonor, etc you can make sound really good.

  • How do you like the aquarian ?

This or the superkick 2 ?

  • @jerrydrummer7 Go with the coated. I have the clears, and the heads just want a flat sound. Go with the coated.

  • Don't like the floor toms very much, but the rest of the kit really surprised me. The floor toms just seem too punchy and airy compared to the rest of the kit.

  • @slipknotmeep I think their causing the snares to vibrate. The kick and first two toms on my PDP do that, makes it more punchy.

  • another question hope you can answer :D

i am looking for a new drum set and i found the pearl vbx (birch) vision drum set and this x7 pdp..

The pearl is with 4 toms (1 extra from standard 3 toms)

I have the cash for both sets

Which would u go for :)?

I am sry for typing my personal subjects on ur video... ^^

  • @ejnarm3 pdp x7 no question about it

  • This or mapex saturn??? :)

  • @ejnarm3

If you have the extra cash, go for the Saturn's.

  • @ejnarm3 PDP X7 !! :-D

  • @dav3502 Ty m8 very helpful :)

  • wow u play great! I am maybe gonna buy this set.. wondering if the snare drum is good?

  • @ejnarm3

The snare drum is good. I wanted everyone to hear the snare with the snare wires off. I played a little too long without putting it back on. Put good heads on it, maybe a hazy on the reso head and the drum will crack.

  • Hi, just a question, it is easy to use true pitch tension?

  • @vdp4ever

The tru pitch is great. These drums were easy to tune and stayed in tune. I have had some kits where the tension rods would back out. Not on these drums.

  • Beatiful drum set i really like it

  • toms and kick sounds awesome.. but snare is ehhhh...

  • thinking about getting this finish but it looks more like blue. Is this just the video?

  • Gettin one for christmas man i can wait

  • i'm not a fan of the floor toms but the other toms sounds great

  • how much

  • @TheMegaPaintballer It goes for around 750 dollars.

  • sounds great and i love the finish dont know why the snare got so much bad feed back i think it sounds good maybe its ur tuning

  • in a few weeks ill get this kit in black + Pearl eliminator p2002c!

  • Bad-ass setup! Sweet drumming and kit. Buying it within weeks, wohoo! :D

  • dude sick drum set, would recomed getting one?

  • @matefut11 Definitely!!!

  • @dav3502 whats your resonant head for the bass?

  • @chocolatecookie5

Aquarian SKII reso head. They sell the set together at GC for something like $75. You wont need any muffling in your kick.

  • What cymbals are you using?

  • @Paitsch hes using k custom or k series cymbals theyre pretty expensive so they sound really good

  • @Paitsch Zildjian K custom Hybrids...13 1/4 inch hats, 17 + 19 inch crashes, 19 inch china and a K custom 20 inch dry ride.

  • how much did you pay for this kit?

  • @MrPearl123 i bought this kit but in black to red fade finish it was 900$

  • Yeah I see what that ned2one guy is talking about I don't like how the floor toms are tuned so high personally...a bit to....paper....e.....ish.....lol =P not enough boom for me but the rest sounds great

  • do u think this set is worth it?

  • @VanillaZues

Absolutely...Quality drums for a great price.

  • this doesn't sound very nice at all

  • @ned2one

That's Cool...Not everyone has the same taste when it comes to drum sound. Some like a Boomy, wide open sound. Someone else might like a tighter more focused sound. This was the way I liked my drums to sound and I just wanted to share with others who might have a similar ear for this particular type of tuning.

  • @dav3502 Yeah I found out that the snare on this kit is a 10 lug snare which is perfect for higher tunings for stuff like r and b. and fusion. but for looser tunings like in rock not so much. I like a more tight sound to my snare with a nice high pitched crack.

  • Don't like the sound at all for that price. My Mapex QR sounds WAY better

  • @ConnecticutsBest you like to talk shit right?? about your mapex lets see how you play your mapex post a video and then you can bark !!!!!!!!

  • I'm getting this kit in 5 days. I'm gonna try the remo pinstripes on it

  • @KingsofComedy

Im sure pinstripes will sound great. Try the Pinstripes on top with clear Ambassadors on bottom. I use this combo on a Mapex kit and it sounds great.

  • @KingsofComedy try remo clear emperors on top of clear ambassadors. its sonds great

  • Thank you for posting this... Finally someone that knows how to play drums and tune them is giving a test of the drums on Youtube. Good sound too. Not a typical digital camera mic. Im considering buying X7's. What do you think?

  • I CANT WAIT TO GET THESE!!!

  • I'm getting this set in 2 days. fuck yeah!!! :D

  • I just bought this set, and the heads that came with it sucks, can't do anything except taping & tuning it tho -_- (low budget)

anyone tell me how to get a nice fat tom sound with the single ply head?

if anyone is willing to give me a simpler tuning help.. (just tell me how many turns for which drum)

  • @Cloud1Production if you ask me, i have 3 words:

    AQUARIAN FOCUS X

  • @Cloud1Production dont know about single ply but remo weatherking pinstripe give a great sound on any kit they are used

  • What kind of China Cymbal do u have on the left?

  • the crash cymbal u hit sounds delicious

  • i have the same one and im in love, BUT!!!!!! all the drum heads that come with it suck so go and by all new ones and u will have urself a fine set. The bass drum is a cannon!

  • The floor toms sound like beating on a paper bag.

  • @KingsofComedy i guess yours sound better.please post a video so i can check them out. thanks.

  • @dav3502 BURNNN

  • @dav3502 No you can make them sound better just tighten the floor toms just a little

  • well n the 21st i will have a brand new pdp x7 maple in white if you guys want keep checkin my chanle i will be doing in the air tonight

  • Hooly shit!!! This kit sounds soo awsome! I want one..NOW!! :P Amazing

  • Nice kit. But that kick sounds horrible. But to each their own.

  • @shadowedwolf66

yea...it's not a boomy kick but thats how I like it....quick attack

  • Are there wires on that snare?

  • @MaYbYl8eR

yea...started playing and forgot to turn them back on until half way thru video.

  • What is your crash cymbal on the far right? That thing sounds extra crisp

  • @aidend1993

zildjian k custom hybrid 17" crash

  • i bought this kit out of impulse and i love it

  • im desperate to get my hands on this same kit. i love the colour you picked too.

just wondering if u could tell me which evans heads those are on thje toms?

  • @dfurnaridrummer

    evans ec2 coated

  • I bought this same exact kit a little while ago and I absolutely love the sound. I seriously was considering on buying Tama Starclassic's or the Pearl Mastersounds. Of course it's all about preference, but the toms, price, amazing kick drum of this kit was exactly what I was looking for. The price was too good for such a nice sounding kit. Please make sure you buy the maple, not the poplar shells. Thanks for the video.

  • @Tuberidin01 I was considering getting this set. What do you mean by poplar shells?

  • get a drum dial, they're dank, and they'll make it sound like a drumset twice the price.

  • sounds sweet

  • im getting this exact drumset same color and everything, it comes tommorow. great bang for ur buck

  • i cant believe how cheap they are only 750

    pounds

  • That sounds soo good!!! Im gona be buying one soon hopefully!!!! Are the stock heads any good?

  • i have it and yea they're ok i guess..

if u know how to tune drums u can make a any drum set sound decent!

    i recommend this kit!

    i love it!

  • nooooooooooooooooo.......

  • Haha don't stress mate, Ive changed my mind, I'm going for the Gretch Catalina Maple, hope that makes you happy :)

  • If you have some money left buy new heads.

the stock heads are not very good. but i think that is the only bad thing about this drumset

  • just got the red to black finish of this dude its amazing the bass drum is fantastic

  • really nice sound...what cymbals do you use?

  • zildjian a custom hybrids

  • thanks...do them sounds the same or the sound is different with the microphone?

  • isn't the crash k custom? how many inch?

  • yes this is an amazing kit for the cost....

my question is wht heads i have to use....

fine tune with the uk remos sound good..

but i want to buy evans wich model???

  • My personal oppinion is Evans G2 batter and G1 resonant on the toms, Evans EMAD muffling system Batter, and EMAD Black Resonant for bass, and Evans Power Center Reverse Dot batter, Evans Hazy 300 snare side resonant for snare

  • @epachosoul

I use Evans EC2 coated heads. Stock heads on resonant. My kick is an Aquarian.

  • I just bought the same exact kit a while ago. I'm not too happy with the snare, what kind of heads are you using on your snare?

  • @Tuberidin01

Stock on the snare. Someday I will change them out.

  • @Tuberidin01 i disagree i have a remo weatherking coated ambassador or something and my snare sounds awesome just learn to tune

  • I'm jealous; I've got the poplar version of this kit. *drools*. Nice soundin' kit!

  • Do the stands come with it, or is it only the toms, bass and snare?

  • I got the same one in the Gold Fade though nice kit I was suprized when i made mine sound just as good with the stock heads

  • ive got the same set how do i tune that sound??

  • You want that crappy sound?

    watch the bob gatzen videos,

how to tune a drumset dude!

  • nice i have the same kit but no maple :( anywyas the drum set still kicks ass I miced mine up it sounds great check out the video!

  • i jus bought the limited edition pdp by dw for 550 red sparkle! haha

  • Nice set i wish they had maple when i bought my set i had the same set but it was made out of popler so i bought a platnum series set then they made X7 in maple.

  • Maple? lol

  • for this set what heads do you recomend if any?

  • realy helpful

    nice sounding

better than i can get mine

  • your hats are really open. i hate that.

  • hi... wich is better this or the dddrum diablo???

  • This

  • if you want to get a ddrum, get a dominion. Diablos are good sounding, but they fall apart quickly

  • i've had my diablo kit since march and i play quite hard, i've had no problems with it except i had to replace the bass skin

  • the leg of one of the bass drums has come off, and the tom stand is absolutly useless. also it goes out of tune very quickely. Cant wait to get my dominion

  • could you play slipknot on this?i need to pick a drumset thats not a shitload of mone yfor christmas. and i've heard Tama rockstars suck .

  • yeah i had a rockstar and didn't like it much i sold it and picked up this kit this one has a way better sound even with good heads the rockstar just didn't sound right for me so yeah get the Pacific Drums X7 Maple Series

  • ok thanks, but do you know a site i mgiht be able to find the set,, ( with hardware , it doesn't have to come with cymbals)

  • guitar center

  • tama sucks in general.. just my personal opinion. They only get good once you get into the money expensive models. But that's just me.

  • i got them!

  • do you tune by free ear or do you use some sort of drum dial becuase your drums some really well tuned?

  • I want one so bad. You're pretty damn good on those drums as well.

  • Thanks. Much appreciated.

  • it is maple! go look at the website

  • no maple !!!!

  • good sound men HOW MUCH?

  • @coqueto4 They cost $900, but it's a beginners kit. It's a good price and they last, and they sound great, but nothing compared to the parent DW.

  • pdp´s are not beginner kits, there a lot of renowned drummers that use pdp´s instead of dw, i personally own a collectors, and im thinking of buying a pdp for travelling purposes, and they are not bad at all

  • I sold a DW Collectors in the same set up I have now about 8 months ago. To me, I can't tell the difference in sound. The only difference I can see is in the hardware. The DW's hardware is a bit sturdier. Other than that, I would say that the sound of the drums are exactly the same. For HALF the cost.

  • maybe its just the camera but the floor toms dont sound to great. Otherwise thanks for the preview, i'm thinking of buying this set

  • just got my red to black sparkle yesturday... been playing 6 hours straight today. Have FUn!!!!

  • sound good dude. awesome kit. i have the cx series

  • that's wierd i have evans ec2 coated drum heads on my drum set and they sound like crap!

  • I own one of the old poplar kits, but the ones they are producing now are definitely all Maple. I'm pissed! I should have waited a year! My poplar X7 still sounds tons better than most people's higher end kits or a poplar kit of any other company that I have heard.

  • When I bought the kit they originally sold me the poplar set. I did not know the tag on the drum says "All Maple". Got to say the poplar's when tuned correctly sounded awesome too. I am a definitely a PDP fan. Their kick drums definitely kill.

  • I've seen some opinions on whether the X7 is maple, a mix, or poplar...pdp site now says maple..but I've heard they waffle on that

  • does this kit come with something more sturdy to hold the toms with? your 10 in. shakes alot and it seems like it could get annoying but it does sound amazing either way

  • No...A rack system is probably the way to go but the shake of the tom does not bother me....

  • Awesome playing man. I have this kit in orange, and I can't get it to sound like this.

  • what heads do you have?

  • he says like evans ecq coated or something but i wouldnt no cuz remo is way bettet

  • i wouldnt agree. i have emperors on my kit atm, i hate them, constantly going out of tune. in my experience of remo and evans ide say evans were about twice as good.

  • Evans coated EC2

  • get evans studio rings for the toms...i jus played mine slowly tunning em along the way and they slowly over time will sound amazing...my 8 inch is the one thats tricky to tune.

  • thank you...a drum dial helps alot with the tuning...then adjust with what sounds good to you from there...good luck.

  • dude your snare is turned off I have the same kit and how come you dont have the metall sort of latch snapped up on your snare

  • Listen to the video. His snares are on.

  • are you using a mic for the bass

  • No....just a Zoom H2 recorder for everything...You can see it sitting on the plastic container in the video.

  • nice, it really sounds nice ;) that bass drums sounds amazing

  • what china?

  • dude i have the same hats you do...wait i have k custom 13 inch hi hats and you, just wondering cause mine sound better..no offence

  • yah but hes probebly not using a mic so it does slitely afect it

  • same hats....

  • Holy Crap this set is a beast!!! Im seriously gettin one lol

  • Comment removed

  • is the snare on??? because it sounds like a normal drum and is it good cause im thinking of buying one????

  • Say man, how do you sync your Zoom H2 recording with your video recording. Do you upload the audio, then video, then sync them? Or are you using some additional software??

    Thanks!

  • I use a program called Audacity... Sync the two track together and that's it...

  • great just needs a new snare head

i'd try a ea evans genera dry

  • me encanta el sonido de esta bateria!

  • any mics used or anything?
