The US is no longer the one and only "land of the free". In the past perhaps it was and it is not due to a move backwards that has led it to no longer holding this title, but instead how slowly it has advanced since. I live in New Zealand and we have had two women presidents come and go with very little fuss made over the fact that it wasn't usual in the context of the outside world. The US is no longer the one and only "land of the free". In the past perhaps it was and it is not due to a move backwards that has led it to no longer holding this title, but instead how slowly it has advanced since. I live in New Zealand and we have had two women presidents come and go with very little fuss made over the fact that it wasn't usual in the context of the outside world. By all means love your country, but you must acknowledge you've got a long way to go in terms of social equality.

Rather than trying to deny it, I'm just going to come clean. I don't like Barack Obama because the color of his skin is black. It has nothing to do with his ideologies, nothing to do with his background, nothing to do with the people he admires, and nothing to do with some of the things he's said. It's only because the color of his skin is black. I'd have no problem with him if he was white, but since he's black, I'm just afraid of him, and therefore, I've made the decision to hate his guts.

@Norwification Agreed, however, I include many of those types in the term "Troll" as they are coming at the argument with a belief and THEN lather it with circumstantial evidence, that seems to justify their belief. This includes Glen Beck's "7 levels of separation of facts" chalkboard trick. You can have a lively discussion about the facts, but it's near pointless to debate factually about beliefs. If their mind is so made up that actual facts are irrelevant, then they're a Troll.

@smartin807 Ok, I thought that trolls were people who commented only to cause negative discussion or upset people, but yeah I guess there isn't really any formal definition for these kind of internet-born terms. I've lived in America but go to university in the UK now, and I'm happy I don't have to put up with the kind of misinformed questions about Europe etc now. This is simply the media trying to divide and conquer, so to speak.
You are a normal person, they are better than you, they should be able to tell you how to act, think, and respond.

"Their" is possessive. "Is" is used only when the subject is singular. "Was" is the past tense of "is". "Was" should also be used only when the subject is singular. Just read what you write to yourself once before hitting the post button and it will save you a lot of future comments like this.

All you have to look at is look Obama's track record to know that it is true. I would be willing to bet that Beck knows more about Black Americans in history than most blacks. Beck is basing it off of Obama's 20 years of attending a Black Liberation Theology which is nothing more than KKK light, for blacks. Obama has been interviewed saying that reparations would not go far enough. The hell with Rush, and especially Alex Jones he's a freakin kook. But Beck has nailed it!

They're forgetting that fact that President Obama is half white. The man was raised by his white grandparents. I don't feel that Obama is racist but I'm sure that he's aware that racism and racial discrimination does exist in contemporary America. It's amazing, and disturbing, how certain people use fear and propaganda in hopes of finding a scapegoat. This has been the case all throughout history (ie Jews in the Holocaust) If you don't know your history then you're bound to repeat it.
