Cool movie but this fight scene was pretty tame in terms of choreography. You want a good fight scene? Check out Kirk vs Kruge on Genesis in Star Trek III. Now THAT is epic!

Mediocre? 'Outland' is one of the very best...at least I think so. Compares favorably with the movie on which it's based, namely 'High Noon,' and HN is one of the greatest movies of all time. IMHO, that is.

@raystaar I agree completely.....Outland's a great 1980's sci-fier with incredible art direction, cinematography, and an enthralling score by Oscar-winner Jerry Goldsmith.

It is actually a western-cop movie with a sci-fi setting. There was nothing mediocre about it. Sean Connery was awesome as usual. It's "ballsy" like most of his films. The opening scene of the mine colony could have been better - it looks like a plastic model, but

most special effects are not too bad for 1981. I give the film 3 out of 4 stars.

I must comment than putting you hand in boiling grease would proably result in third degree burns.

I wouldn't call "Outland" the best movie ever but I don't think it's mediocre either. It's enjoyable for a gritty, dry sci-fi flick with Western movie touches.
