Giving him new animations would take a 3d animator and several hours if not days to make. Then they would have to program when he starts the animation, how fast it should play, when to stop the animation and more. Its not as easy as changing the spindash's color and is probably harder than remodeling Sonic's model.

@tehbandolitar no, it is a texture change, on things like console versions you need code input to change colours, he has changed multipule textures and edited character appearance, as far as i know its basically impossible to do this on game cube
