Thanks for your comment. If I want to record myself pressing some buttons and turning some knobs I will. If I want to play the over used moog lead preset and show off my finger skills I will (listen up ladies). I really dont care about what you or those "real" musicians think. If you do care that much, there's something wrong with you.
I"ve been through 10 videos to see how these keyboards SOUND with SOLOING and PLAYING, not just your video, but 90% of the synth video on here just turn on drum machines and apreggiator and hit few notes, do any of YOU ACTUALLY PLAY. Arps are good for an affect, but not the song. A 5 yearold can do this, and it sound boring and shitty, this goes to all of YOU, PLAY your damn intrument , people like you make everyone think less of synth players as not real musicans abd to all the geeks-fuck off
@pixusbubblejet keyboard version has factory samples and the ability to load your own samples, the module version has samples if you pay for the license sl. The keyboard version has a decent fatar keybed so it might be worth considering if you do not already have a keyboard. I have the module version. Somehow the module looks like some kind of vending machine while the keyboard version looks really cool (to me anyway).
you should compare specs, audio demos etc. and think about what do you want to use it for...my guess is that the tetr4 is better in the bass department and warmer sounds since it is analog...if that's the thing you're looking for go for the tetr4...if you dont mind digital and perhaps a greater variety of sounds go for the blofeld...IMO! :)
Ooooft blofeld, its like a micro q and a microwave and a ppg wave all in a lil box with nobs to fiddle with very very nice indeed so powerful, and great analogue emulators.
thanks for the demo, I do find musical moments in this video.. in particular the noisy experimental first part and eerie part and many other moments by the way..
tastes and tastes and colors.
What do you think about this synth now you'v past some time with it?
I love this thing and i think i'm going to love it even more after the upgrade and (if waldorf decides to go forward with it) the pc editor.anyway, best 400€ i've spent on an instrument that's for sure.
i wouldnt be as rude as to say that but there is very little musicality to this demo, that said its a demo of presets not what can be squeezed out of this machine so i can understand why. Ignore him he is just one of these childish people that have not learned how to express his opinions verbally.
sound wise im not sure about this synth yet but the lfo squelches you made sound really lovely :D
i recorded this the day after i got it and it was one of the first videos of this synth here...since i was lucky enough to have one of the first units i've made a quick demo of the presets just to give an idea to the people (and potential buyers) about how this machine sounded.
i understand when you say there's little musicality here,i wasn't too much of a "melody" person at the time : )
personally i think this synth lives up to the hype,it sounds like an waldorf synth.thanks for your comment ;)
i love to use it for pads, mostly digital-sounding but i think you can get near some warmer,analog-ish ones with carefull programming...i find myself using all the time some lfo, envelope or the modwheel to sweep thru the wavetables, adds a lot of movement to the sound.for atmospheres i think it can do a nice job too but honestly i never really used it for those kind of sounds...maybe some other user can give you a better aswer?thanks!
It just is a sweet little machine. It is THE desktop synth module out there. The keyboard version is very cool, but tbh a tad too expensive compared to the desktop version. Also once we're talking keyboards there's some quite tougher competition.
thank you very much sir,my hands were indeed full of crap after recording this video, had to wash them for like 15 minutes and still to this day i smell the side effects this little white machine produced.
Yeah I'm definitely happy with the choice of sounds you chose to highlight. Most of the demos are really not up my alley but this one has convinced me!
I just got mine today. a few things to mention other than the known volume sound differencesthat can be fixed. i noticed the inside display screen is a little crooked. it's not that bad but i can notice it. go figure i get one crooked! i was wondering if any other blofeld owners noticed this on theirs? also my volume knob was a bit loose not tight like the others. maybe all this is common sice i was told they are hand made. thanks for any info
I'm not sure I quite understand this thing.... it looks like you just twist knobs and it makes music on it's own.... where's the skill in that? I'm more into the MicroKorg. I'm not looking to start a "flame war" or anything, I've just watched several videos for this thing and they all seem like you just turn knobs and play pre-recorded patterns and just tweak them. Unless someone could explain it to me a little better....
like they say...never judge a book by it's cover ;)
it doesn't make music on it's own.the "pre-recorded" patterns were actually written by me on cubase (played via midi),except for the first one which uses the synth's arp.
the Mk is a nice synth but the blofeld is much more complex .and yes,it takes more skill to program.i own a ms2000(microkorg's older brother)too so i can say i kinda know what i'm talking about.still i hope i never have to sell one of them because every synth is different ;)
in my opinion...i really don't care which tools are used to make music, what matters the most is the final result.i agree to a certain level on your opinion, but let's not judge everyone that uses sequencers and arps as "fake" musicians.tell that to guys like NIN and lots of other top artists ;) if the person programming doesn't have any musical knowledge the result will be equally shitty.but anyway,it's just my opinion :)
really??? Big waste of money if you ask me. You could save yourself some serious cash if you got the desktop version and a Novation Remote SL, then you'd be able to tweak a whole bunch of parameters real time!
I have an X-station too, no Blofield, but I'm thinking of getting one. I was wondering, can you hook up a Blofield directly to the X-station with no computer, and play it directly, or do you have to run both through a computer first?
Thanks, if I get one I will do that, however, I think I have to save my money. Cool synth though, good job on playing, must be a fun synth to program too.
hmm. blofeld. i like the price. i like the polyphony. and i really like the fact it's made in germany. but, i haven't been sold on the sound yet. it's a bit different. i know i hate the waldorf PPG wave. And i hear the presets that come with it aren't very good. hmmmm. donno yet. i need an hardware synth, but not sure which to get yet. hmmm. germans make the best stuff, and the next step up is a virus, but it also cost 3x as much. one question: when you change presets, do the notes drop out?
