  • dude! i totally do that pick holding thing too!!

  • I was expecting him to pull another rabbit out of his guitar, haha.

  • I can actually play this! but not NEAR as fast

  • LOL. 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7...there's7 notes! He makes it seem like he just showed up at your house to say "hey look what I came up with! Lets learn it!"

  • Pauls definition of real slow, is my definition of real fast.

  • i just started playing and when i tap NOOOOO sound comes out. any help?

  • @bananasack28 If you've just started playing, you might just not have the strength yet. Maybe you're just playing too soft. Distortion helps too. :D

Also, does anyone notice how Paul is always like "Look, then you do this, it's very simple." And then he just shreds your face off?

  • @bananasack28 mmm when you are tapping with your right hand, you might have to pull off the string, not just press and release, it's exactly like a hammer on and pull off with your left hand, if you get used to that there's no need of distortion but it sounds smoother with it :) hope i've helped \m/

  • @aridahl yeah that helped a ton! thanks mate!

  • aww no rabbit this time?

  • Funny. I just leave my pick between my forefinger and thumb and tap with my middle finger. I think my middle finger is stronger than my index finger, anyway. Anyone agree? Disagree?

  • @azimuth361 same here. it's better if you want to learn sweep-tapping

  • @azimuth361 same here man, guys like misha mansor and tosin abasi (unless he is doing like a 6 note run) do the same thing.

  • my bad hang on 2:55 sorry

  • 0:55 fail. but i still love u paul

  • I agree with dude below, why do they call it two handed tapping, isnt that implied in the tapping part? Also how come he doesnt just tap with his middle finger, then he doesnt have to move his pick. whatever, i love watching his videos

  • You expect me to play this?

  • @SkillerGuyVids agree=_=

  • "Voting is for old people" hahaha

  • why do people call it "two handed tapping"? isn't one handed tapping legatto? then why not just call it tapping

  • where does he get his shirts?? x.x

  • ever thought of using the middle finger for tapping?

  • @jonthehall there are a million ways to tap

  • @jonthehall no way! that's exactly what i've been doing!! it would make him have more of an efficient switch between picking and tapping, i love middle finger tapping. .. .

  • ...and also an awesome teacher!

  • Paul quick question. Where did u get that shirt?!!?

  • Two handed tapping?

wtf does one handed tapping look like?

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 hammer ons and pull offs....

  • @AirsoftLife I don't think you understand my phrasing.

"two handed tapping" sounded oxymoronic to me, but then again i understand what your saying. Even though it still sounds retarded to call that "tapping".

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 Rofl trills probably?

  • @Jamsessionroom1337 probably similar to one hand clapping?

  • Does anyone else think Paul Gilbert looks and talks a lot like the older brother from iCarly? I've always thought that... kind of random haha

  • @XxxxxJamesxxxX you're actually right now that i think about it lol

  • it's hard to choose which i like more

    the lick? or his shirt

  • @bubbymyhubba

I prefer his shirt, for the tapping i think he would have to take lesson by the 'Master' Kiko Loureiro or Joe Satriani. However he is a great guitar hero

    1. Kiko Loureiro

    2. Guthrie Govan

    3. Joe Satriani

    4. Steve Vai

    5. Paul Gilbert

  • @colpoinfernaleomicid where's john petrucci? hehe

  • @colpoinfernaleomicid Kiko Loureiro is in a band and Paul Gilbert is a solo artist so is not the same but Angra is still a cool band and his tapping didn't impressed me at all but he's good with the neoclassical

  • @WillyGaussBlogs

Loureiro is also a solo artist, he composed cd 'universo inverso', 'no gravity' , 'fullblast'; you can see those CD on youtube. If you want listen a good tapping watch video 'Kiko Loureiro - Fiorano 02' or video 'Kiko Loureiro -Tapping in my dark tranquillity'. Listen too the entire cd 'universo inverso' his fusion-jazz second CD, it's awesome!

  • @colpoinfernaleomicid I find your lack of jazz guitarist disturbing.

  • the only problem on my guitar is that the strings are too high on the fret board which makes it hard for me to tap open strings. XD

  • @xeroblade012 you just have to set up or have your guitar set up properly. your action shouldn't be so high that it makes tapping difficult. Google the type of guitar you have and the type of bridge the guitar has and google how to adjust string height. the string distance on my guitar at the 12th fret is about equal to or slightly thinner than the thickness of a penny. if your strings buzz then take it to a guitar tech so he or she can adjust your truss rod and get the bow out of your neck.

  • title of DVD please?

  • im not sure if he ment that tap harmonic at the end of the demo at 0:43 lol but it was sweet

  • lol, paul gilbert looks funny when hes counting

  • What I do, and I think it works amazing, at least for me, is I do all my one finger tapping with my middle finger, which i've trained to work just fine, so i can just keep holding my pick like normal and have a flawless transition back into picking, at least if you're just starting tapping, I think it's a great strategy. . .

  • He has the crappiest tone, and he makes it sound really good. He plays so clean, he could make any rig sound good.

  • He kinda sounds like Seth Rogen.

  • It has SEVEN notes ;)

  • PG is such a good teacher and ofc guitarist :D

  • 1:25 -1:30- jajaja LMAO

    PG GOD!

  • seems like a pretty cool guy

  • IMO paul is a sleeper guitarist... he plays what he likes, but if he wanted, he could beat Vai, Satch and all other virtuosos with ease!

  • 1 person was a young person who voted

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST It's because he's a magician! Not because of Call of Duty. :)

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST that's not sleight of hand dude he's using paul gilbert pro

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST Sleight*

It's different. Also, it's a figure of speech... Although a rather literal one, at that. I hope you were being ironic when you related it to Call of Duty -.-

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST I really hope you don't think that phrase only has application in call of duty.

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST its a magician's term before call of duty was ever erected

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST Usually sleight of hand is referring to magic tricks, if your talking about real life that is

  • @SolidGoldEliteODST No, that's a common phrase believe it or not.

  • I like to slide the pick between my thumb and hand next to my index finger. allows for 4 finger tapping without putting a dirty pick in your mouth

  • great lick!

  • @VuelaBand ur one video has now been disliked

  • @VuelaBand Such a stupid troll :D

  • as opposed to one handed tapping lick? :P
