Hi, I also recently discovered Magnus Mills and have derived a lot of brain-teasing pleasure reading The Restraint of Beasts, The Scheme for Full Employment, Explorers of the New Century and All Quiet on the Orient Express... Thanks for doing this review - he needs more publicity so I can find more people to talk about his books with!
I finished "The Restraint of Beasts" a few days ago. I laughed a few times as I read and with a sense of foreboding, I was jolted at the end. This was another interesting selection and I look forward to reading the other two Magnus Mills books you reviewed here as well. Thank you once again - I would not have found these books on my own.
These sound great. Any time the words sinister and humor are used in the same sentence to describe a book, I'm in. I think I will actually interrupt my own list of books and go grab The Restraint of Beasts from my local Library.

@wearevivo Yes he's not that much read, yet most readers who try his books do like them a lot.
If you are interested, on my channel page you can find a playlist with more book reviews which I did over time.

@LakesideReader I'm sure you'll enjoy "Explorers of the New Century" as well. Plenty of deadpan humor, until it very suddenly turns dark...
When I have a bit of time I will add some more book reviews - they get only a few views, and comments like yours encourage me to post more.
