Bottom line is music influences music. They made a good song using good songs. See any rap song or Elvis song for further examples but until we invent more music chords some stuff will sound the same. I appreciate it for what it is.
Your such a faggot. THey havent at all. Muse are quite original and put a lot of time and effort into their work. They spent a long time putting their album back to put more work into exogenesis. If you dont like it dont listen to the music fair enough but how dare you try and call them rip off artists. They may be influenced by other pieces of music or artists but that is music. If we didnt have any inspiriation we wouldnt even have music to this or equal extend.
Can't you accept that muse are good artists? They spend a lot of time creating their albums not ripping it off. You can all have sex with radiohead if you like but Muse have not ripped radiohead off as much as you want to make it reality that a bigger band has ripped them off
Yes they are and have proved it on many occasions. I think its a coincidence, if anything i'd probably agree that the call me part would be a rip off. The rest is just poppycock.
@TobiasGobias oh fuck off, Muse are not rip off artists, and they sound NOTHING like Radiohead, Muse are so much heavier than Radiohead, what Muse songs sound like Radiohead? go on? The two bands went down completely different routes, Radiohead have gone down an electronic route, while Muse have gone towards being a prog/symphonic rock band.
i think the intro sounds like the the theme tune to the BBCs coverage of the masters golf tournament and the chorus riff sounds like Spirit in the Sky
I love muse too, but I completely agree with you. I knew I heard that synth melody somewhere before but couldn't quite put my finger on it.
I got the album yesterday so I've only listened to it all the way threw a couple of times but I remember a blatent rip off of Beethovens Moonligh Sonata near the end, and also some Philip Glass.
Still enjoyed that last part of the album though mind you.
if u read the album notes they actually say they put samples from 3 classical peices in the album in I belong to you, at the end of united states of Eurasia and MK Ultra I think...... I knew that classical peice at the end of USoE was ripped off... but damn it's such a nice way to finish this song..... Turns out after bagging out this song ever since it came out.. i actually love the album... there all good songs except Uprising and Undisclosed Desires
Muse has done that for a while, a lot of their earlier classical inspired stuff used chord progressions and melodies taken straight from baroque/classical composer.
Bottom line is music influences music. They made a good song using good songs. See any rap song or Elvis song for further examples but until we invent more music chords some stuff will sound the same. I appreciate it for what it is.

It hurts my ears. Literal side-by-side comparisons don't work.

Why are you guys acting surprised? Muse have been ripping off Radiohead for years. They have mastered the art of ripping off.

hello?!???? have you even heard the riff in this song and billy idol's in white wedding? it's a BLATANT RIP OFF.
as for radiohead, the lead singer totally emulates thom yorke's voice.

okay, even YOU can't defend the blatant rip off of the billy idol riff.
it's one thing to be a good musician, it's another thing to be innovative and creative... they are not.

you are idiots. so many songs these days sound similar to parts of other songs. The similarities you claim are a stretch at best. MUSE > ALL
