  • Yes, I remember this band from the 60s and a place in Stockholm called "Nalen". And their performance was awesome. My favorite band at that period was a band called THE ZETTLERS and their versions of "Skinnie Minnie" and "Beautiful Delilah. Really f....g good with a bloody driving beat. Another band at that time was an american band called THE GOLLIWOGS and their recording "Tell Me". Check up the singer..............yes, it´s him!!!!!

  • Tages. Wow, brings back memories. Me and my ffriend would ring the door bell of Tommy Blom who lived with his mum and dad and he'd come out and chat with us, It was such innocent times. He was sweet and friendly and we were big fans of course. Love to see this on YouTube - fab.

At this time, I was 15 years old, and I LOVED TAGES!!!

  • I can´t understand why my dad was so upset, they look really nice to me!

I was 15 years old, when Tages recorded this song and i LOVED them!!

  • fy fan va sångstämmorna är illa. det låter riktigt jävla surt, vilket är synd för låten är jävligt bra och bandet skrev jävligt bra låtar, men några bra sångare var dom knappast.

  • i know dane! ^^

    he´s my dads friend

  • Tages blev bättre utan Blom efter några år. Lill Babs brossa på trummor o inspelning in England.

  • Well; Tages were older brothers at my school, and at my summerplace.

  • I hate when people compare this beat groups to the beatles..yes they were influenced.. but this was the european beat.. a lot of bands had this sound even they weren't influenced by the beatles sorry by poor english

  • Comment removed

  • 'a lot of bands had this sound' Really?

  • just heard any compilation of european beat or all over the world beat comp

  • Okay, I understand your English is not good, are you saying, 'Just HEAR any compilation of European beat or world beat comp? Of the year 1965? Is that what you mean? Judging from the video, it cannot be denied there is The Beatles influence here, don't get me wrong, this music by the Tages is really well composed but you can't deny the influence. I mean, right down to the clothing, everyone is wearing the same attire.

  • oh yeah it's HEAR i'm sorry, yeah in compilations of european beat or world beat you can find some nice stuff like this, all these comps were released on late 70s or well like most in the 80s.And of course this band had that Beatles influence,i mean they were a real phenomen back in the 60s,so these bands took that sound, but The Beatles weren't the only beat bands, that's why i hate when people compare, even there are many songs by bands like this that are better than songs of beatles

  • Fair statement, you say there, Rodoorsfopeyote. As I am not from the 50s nor 60s era, and though I grew up in San Francisco (Hayes Valley District) in the early 70s listening to mostly anything on FM radio, I am open minded, and through Youtube, I'm discovering bands from those eras all over the world that compose songs and music very well. I think the famous bands were focused on by the media but there certainly were thousands of groups that invented their signature sounds for sure.

  • Dude, every band no matter they came from UK or US or like in this case Sweden were influed by The Beatles.

The Beatles in their turn were influed by Buddy Holly who in his turn was influed by Elvis who was influed by black R&B and blues singers.

  • So, who's that for, Sellammar?!?

  • Beatle clones ! They were pretty good !

  • Playing guitar up high on the body is definitely recommended as it dramatically reduces the risk of developing 'Carpal Tunnel Syndrome' in the wrist and forearm. I've been playing in bands for over forty years and still wear my guitars chest height.

  • all guitars should be played above the waist like that

  • Ha! Ha!...yes!....especially if it's a flying V like Dave Davies did !

  • Ha ha!

  • I was at the same age as theire younger sisters. We went or were at the same school.

I knowed them all, but as a minor.

And yes; my 11 year old boy loved them from the time he would aware to listen. His preferences were Tages and Beatles.

Birk has been at the Liverpool /Beatles museum. And he took down Pauls guitar and played at it.

    Naughty boy...

  • Swedish GRAND FUNK LOL !

  • Thank you! I love it when I discover Merseybeat (or M'beat-style) music that I haven't heard. What a wonderful world.

  • haha i like to hear: i should be glad to be jew. XD

i know thats not the lyrics but.. sound like it too :P

awesome song. Better than the Gear One cover

  • mycket bra låt rolle..................

  • thank you for posting this.

  • This was the band's second single and the guys were around 17 when it was recorded. It is still a great pop song butlisten to thei albums Extra Extra, Contrast and Studio which are all masterpieces.

  • This is a great song

  • Love this music very much...dosent understand what some people have against this kind of music..im 16 year and i love it!

    MODS!

  • @uddevallarn rock on, young feller or young gal (pick one), you're on the right track!

  • ...I did make a mistake by not mentioning the amazing Hansson & Karlsson...

  • yes! bo hansson

  • ROoooooOOOO Love !

  • pity the boys guitars were too big

  • By the way, if this makes you interested in swedish pop music from the 60:s, please remember: Tages was the only band of any quality in the country at the time...

  • That is a fucking lie. Tages probably was the best, but there are lots of gems from Sweden 65-69. Check out the "Who Will Buy These Wonderful Evils"-compilations for proof. The Shakers' song with the same name is fantastic, as are Mecki Mark Men's psych-stomper "Midnight Land".

  • Crap tal, Sweden had other great bands like Jerry Williams ,Ola and the Janglers, Shakers, Namelosers, Gonks, Slamcreepers and Hansson & Carlsson who actually wrote a song to Jimi Hendrix. A song called Circus Legend.

Mekki Mark Men. Made in Sweden were two other great band.

  • Great video, any idea where I can find a copy of "Ola & The Janglers" Let's Dance?

  • "I'm the man you are looking for" is another gem from these guys. Thanks for posting!

  • What a great song & sound. They just don't make them like this anymore. There is nothing like '60s garage music. Since this wasn't a hit, it falls into the '60s garage genre. Great stuff. Thanks Hans!

  • The sad thing was that none of these groups were heard in America in the sixties. Our loss.

  • wow-find me a time machine-set it for sweden, 1965-i missed out on a great scene!

  • I live in 1966! Evertday it's 1966! I listen to nothing but music between 1964-67, and watch TV shows from the 50's and 60's. Why should I leave the greatest era in Rock n' Roll? 60's Punk, Pop, and Beat forever!

  • HemiVic...Glad to hear that, because I am one of those people too. Nothing better than this stuff.

  • DON'T EXAGERATE HEMI, true it was good but......

  • 1966 IS THE GREATEST.I LIVE IN IT TOO.

  • The Mascots and Tages sound exactly alike. There is almost no difference between Sad Boy and I should be glad...

  • That mid sixties sound is one of the best things in life.Thank the Beatles for raising the bar so very high.Harmony lacks in so much of what exists today nice to hear this short little song. The Tages were Beatle influenced no doubt.

  • Well, I was born back then. I am glad I was. Great Swedish pop band, the best as a matter of fact.

  • Wow, I Wish I Was Born Back Then. Hey, At Least I Still Get To Enjoy This Now..
