There are no coherent sources on the numbers of deaths in any of the supposedly communist nations. Well we would have to assume that chivalry at the time was still in effect, coming at the enemy face to face like they all have done in the previous wars in the 18th and 19th centuries.

However in WW1 all that has started to change with 'modern' generals denying the traditional and chivalric ways of war, or what people usually would say, 'The Gentleman' way and use cowardice tactics or what we would say to be more intellectual.

That's how the whole WW 1 was fought, dude. With enough determination it may succeed the if the defender retreats, or if there are enough attackers to overwhelm the enemy. Casualties are naturally very high.
