I've heard 20-somethings tell me--somebody who lived through the 90s as a fully-fledged adult--that Nirvana didn't actually transform the landscape of popular music, that their influence is overestimated, etc. This is like saying Pulp Fiction had no affect on cinema. The impact of 90s grunge bands was so total that we're still hearing it (just like we're still confronted by "Miserlou" everywhere). Sorry: it happened.

Nothing about the two bands were similar, aside from the fact that they both were popular in the early 90's.
