absolutely American propaganda "how crap is hydrogen" because The American Petrol Companies wouldn't be able to sell the fuel they produce if this car gets in mass production on a reasonable price. From the other hand why there should be need for "finding a hydrogen station" to refuel when it could be just On-Demand. More propaganda. Fuck.
I predict energy companies will try to monopolize hydrogen supplies instead of developing HHO converters to keep the dough flowing out of your pocket even when oil is gone.
you need to figure out how you're going to live without hydrocarbon energy, forget this fancy "rechargable battery". We wont be able to manufacture tech like this.
This is a dangerous distraction - established auto companies clutching at straws trying to survive the oil age.
The future of transport is bicycles (if we're lucky), foot & horse more likely.
only the military/state will have vehicles as we know them today.
no you are gettin confused. Porsche engineers work for porsche, audi work for audi, they are in competition. The group may own them, but this is a different kettle of fish. Never heard of competition laws and acts?
They put the hydrogen engine in the 7-series because the rich and powerful drive them. Its also a heavy car. So its demonstrates the power and smoothness of the engine.
BMW calls these people "decision-makers" and produced these cars to gain their trust.
So many great innovation's with too few resources and expensive upkeep. I do love the 7 series. My last automobile was a 1997 740i - 4.4-liter V8 with lots of power but I only put premium gas in it; at around $60 + upon fill up.
Hahaha yeah those spark knocks in deisel engines are a real bitch... Wait, i forgot where a spark was in a deisel engine... Can you tell me? I guess not, deisels use glow plugs, and the cylinders fire by heat and compression. Popular mechanics needs to get some educated staff... Pronto.
common man...yes tomorrow i am going to go make my m5 bmw run on hydrogen that is not the future...perfomance will be shatured if all cars would run on hydrogen...so F.you mate :)
LOL but your beloved BMW is the one whose trying to push this hydrogen powered crap. If anything the only good alternative to petrol is diesel (TDI Power). Audi seems to be taking the better path (as usual).

ahhahahahahhas wow your making me laugh tonight. BMW Diesel engines like for like with audi are far superior and the cars they are in, far far far faster. Get a grip you really are stupid.
Then has the Audi R10 TDi won the Le Mans Series for like 10 years in a row? Dipshit, you know NOTHING. Audi hasn't even gotten started with its diesel lineup in the US. Go play in traffic you poser faggot.
I am talking about road cars tit face. I tell you wot get in your 3.0 TDI and go find a nice BMW 530D to race and watch him whupp your arse. Or better get audis lovely 4.2 TDI and race a BMW 535D and again watch him whupp your arse. get a grip.... Audi are not in the same league as BMW and the sooner you audi lovers admit that the only reason you buy an audi is because you cant afford the ultimate driving machine - BMW
fuck your an arrogant prick. your why bmw's suffer massive depreciation - coz not that many people wanna look like cocks (like you) in your gay m3. i have nothing against bmw personally but they do have a problem with the people that drive them (only some of the time). Audis are beautiful cars (so are some bmws). but there is no need to be such a dickhead about it
maybe where you live, but not in my country. I dont know why as they are both nice cars but the BMWs and all other European cars bar Audi and Mercedes seem to depreciate very quickly
wrong, audi depriciate quicker than bmw, mercedes. Only the high spec audi... RS4,6,8 dont depriciate as quick but they still take any heavier residual knock when compared to its german rivals(bmw, merc). I would assume this would be the same in any country as BMW and Mercdes are a far superior car in build, design and function. Audi are still running Front wheel drive for god sake, apart from the quatro which is an extra cost!
What makes people who drive m3's "cocks"? They are very nice, beautiful cars that are fast and fun. Some people are idiots and somehow have enough money to flip the payment on one, but not all of them are jackasses...Dont alienate everyone, it makes your point futile.

in an idealistic world yes.... but realistically the point now is to make it cheap therefore accessible and so you establish and indirect line of process to something that is ultimately better for the environment.
@Mechaniclese They are one in the same. If BMW is the only company making hydrogen cars so only the rich can buy them then the poor and middle class will still be polluting the earth. If the technology is not affordable it is not worth while.
@Reu360 they made the 7 series on purpose ! the can make the same engine for the 1 series that i imagine the middle class people can effort ! Yes BMW's are not cheap, but I'm sure, when the world will wake up and all car makers will start building their Hydrogen motors any one could effort it.
im a lexus/j-car fan, the bmw is the only company that offers all petrol, diesel, hybrids and hydrogen. having hydrogen and petrol in one car is not practical and possibly v.expensive too. i heard that their 7-series mpg in both petrol and hydrogen does less than 30 mpg :(
it does less than 20 mpg on gasoline...(17 ish, IIRC) and its a pathetic 260hp V12...the engine uses 50 liters of hydrogen to go the same distance as it does on 13.9 liters of gasoline
Why is everyone inventing electric cars and hybrids when i think that Hydrogen is the best way to power a car probably better than petrol too! I want a hydrogen car but where would I fill it up? BP, please install hydrogen pumps so I can have one of these!

BMW is better than Audi... audi is a good car, but BMW ...by far the best cars, company , and customer service...IMO
maxpineapple 3 years ago 2
IMO you're a moron. Audi's interiors (for one) blow BMW away.
KiloByte69 3 years ago
I can't speak for customer service though, I only wish Audi didn't get chinsy with the customer service. Sorry for calling you a moron.
KiloByte69 3 years ago
one thing you forgot about Audi (volkswagon group)
those engineers also came up with the porsche gt2, gt3, 911 turbo, and cayenne turbo s
and...
s8 r8, s6, rs6, rs4, and s4
Volkswagon group FTW

It releases alot of power when it burns because it burns much hotter and much faster, and it's only exhaust is steam.
