thank you for this beautiful video, loved the endless boardwalks of ketchikan and the many creeks. so much water. i wonder what it's like to climb up to your house on one of the many long wooden stairways uphill in winter. what a job to keep them icefree...
and we all get it it rains here, it rains more here than just about anywhere else in america. try to find a place in the US that rains more, its not easy. We get on average 13 feet of rain a year and this year it rained more than it does normally. But the fishing is some of the best on the planet, weather it is for salmon or for halibut and other bottom fish. this is what ketchikan is
@hunteer9 CHALLENGE ACCEPTED - BEHOLD Hilo, HI 126 inches of rain annually compared to 58 inches of rain annually for Juneau. YOU SIR, have just been schooled.
This was our first port. I was hoping to get a picture of a Bald Eagle when one flew 10 ft over my head and landed on a post about 25 ft away. An amazing experience that I will always remember. While we were there it rained the first 30 minutes and then the clouds parted and the weather was perfect.
@parsleysprigs actually i am from ketchikan and actually "shrooms" will grow here believe it or not and really the weather you see in this is typical which means average rainfall is pretty moist perfect ground for growing them, you see although you see a typical tourist destination but you have never seen the dark side of it like i have if i were to say something about this place it would be a "drug pedaling smut ring" but yea its cold but this is the summer so its hot and moist, perfect growing
@duffebduff huh good luck with that buddy its rain almost year round but if i could say if the best place to go it is in the summer because they have heat waves that can get sunburn when i go back up to alaska this summer to visit my dad (my fiamily is in ketchikan) i am making a tour video of the whole place and you will get a whole tour not just some tourist waving his camera about looking for whats good for when i already know what already is...
Born and raised here. I miss the summers, not the long wet winters. I prefer the long cold winters of Two Rivers, Alaska. Call me crazy, I,m used to it.

This is an amazing video. I loved Ketchikan when we went because it was beautiful and because it's where my grandma grew up.

Ketchikan is great in many ways, especially the scenery (when it's not raining) I live there now, and love it every day.
