  • Movies at 1:18 ?

  • Funny how we see New York get destroyed in most disaster movies except 2012...

  • brilliant editing, i've allways wanted to make a vid like this.

and its so true, new york gets destroyed in every disaster film, if i lived there i actually would be paranoid.

  • Great video I like NYC because of its buildings, they are beautiful and scenes are great too. I want to become a film director making disaster and action movies but I had made up cities of my own and hope first God to film them and use disasters and action and their beauty too. I made up a nation or a "contination" that I call it.

  • *2:21

  • What's 1:09 from? And

  • I love L.A the 12th most popular place in the world. Dont compare one of Los Angeles's neighborhoods to a whole state.

  • @TheAtlanticDan. Thanx brother

  • Always love seeing NYC get levelled. Lived a lifetime there one year before moving to the 'burbs

  • Hollywouldn't is a nigger hypnotist town.

  • nice! [clicks the subscribe button rather enthusiastically]

  • well, at least the author didn't use "United 93". because that would be just distasteful. You have to wait 22.3 years for it to be funny (although Family Guy already did)

  • You would think that after what happened on 9/11, these holly wood idiots would make more movies with, L.A. gettin' destroyed or, Chicago, why not Philly? New York is the best city in the world and, as a result hollywood gets there rocks off seein' it get blown up. Leave N.Y. the fuck alone, the Twin Towers are gone and, the least offensive post 9/11 movie would have to be "the day after tomorrow. It wasn't that bad. How ever what is the name of the piece of shit movie @ 0:18? Holly wood sucks.

  • Nice vid! Also great choice of song, it's very good and original ;)

  • From whitch movie is scene at 2:18

  • @milos504 That's a classic--original Planet Of The Apes from 1968, starring Charlton Heston (the very last scene of the movie)

  • feeling... pretty... psyched

  • Knowing is the most chilling destruction.

  • New York just got pwned. So much for that Empire State of Mind.

  • @IndigoTalker more like State of catastrophe

  • I love the video!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Top 10 NYC Destroyed Films 1. When Worlds Collide 2. Independence Day 3. Armageddon 4. Deep Impact 5. A.I. 6. The Day After Tomorrow 7. Cloverfield 8. The Day the Earth Stood Still 9. Knowing 10. Watchmen
  • Which of the movies is it that has that creeping fog that destroys everything? Sum of All Fears? And also - I'd like to see my city, Philly, owned like this.

  • @PandoraKyss i dont think philly is the kind of place that just gets owned, it is more of a place were people own eachother,

PS: OMG! cold case is about to start! kyaaa!XD

  • @PandoraKyss That's actually a cloud of nano-insects devouring everything unnatural they come across in the remake of The Day The Earth Stood Still (Keanu Reeves version).

  • does anyone know the cover version of "it's the end of the world as we know it" playing at the end?

  • amazeballs!!!

  • new york!!!!!!!!!!

  • New york had always some survivors but Paris is systematically erased at the beginning of the movie lol

Probably a bad feeling against the french people ^^

  • i dont understand this short clip...can someone explain to me?

  • haha i love how all end of the world movies begin in america and only they can save the world lol or if america survives then fuck the rest of us right? lol

  • What movie is at 1:27?

  • @HarticJ1 Not sure which part you're referring to, since there's 3 in quick succession at that point, but here they are in order: 1) Glowing energy ball is from Watchmen, 2) Water flooding around buildings is from The Day After Tomorrow, and 3) The fire cascading across the planet is from Knowing.

  • Love THIS :-)

Why do so many people want to predict how the world will end? And why do we want to watch it :-/

  • @mcarter09

you already gave the answer in the 2 very first words in your post ;)

  • Love the Julee Cruise cover at the end but can't find it on iTunes. Where did you get it?

  • Which movie is the scene at 2:17 from?

  • planet of the apes

  • planet of the apes, the '70 movie

  • Funny that it's always NYC that gets hit (and the White House at DC). Almost never a disaster in some hicktown in south. One of the factors could be jealousy as most of the great directors and actors in US are from NYC.

  • I Love NY

  • Great job!! New York is invulnerable!

    Go marshmallow man!

  • Such a wonderful idea. Strangely poetic and beautiful with an underlying element of humor. One minute of scrolling credits doesn't work for me however.

  • Nice editing :) And to answer the question of "Why is it always NY?", it's just because it's an easily recognizable city, with lots of iconic buildings / features. It wouldn't be the same if they were destroying... Cincinnati.

  • Whoo! a few of those places are actually Toronto, as NY.

  • Great editing to the music!

  • Why destroy New York? Because it's a huge city, instantly recognizable to pretty much everyone with a television on the planet, and like DC and L.A. (two others that get destroyed all the time in movies!), is a target you can use with multiple disasters. I mean, who would pay to see a movie where the only places that get destroyed are Fargo, ND or Des Moines, IA? You gotta hit the big ones--NY, LA, DC--that's the holy trinity of big budget action film destruction!

  • By the way, there's 1 brief clip that, while wonderful in this montage, actually isn't in New York. At 0:49, the clip of Maximillian Schell and Tea Leoni from Deep Impact is on a beach in Virginia or Maryland. She had just left her studio in Washington DC to meet him in the moviem, and they were hit by the massive wave caused by the impact of the second comet piece, which hit off the coast of North Carolina.

  • I can already give you an idea for a "sequel" to this--Hollywood vs. Washington DC! They've destroyed that about as much as New York (Independence Day, Deep Impact, Day After Tomorrow, and even this year's 2012, just for instance). I love big budget disaster movies--I've got every film you reference in this clip, and more. I love movies!

  • Good job for random Ghostbusters clips. But if I were tested on which movies I saw in this, I'd fail.

  • Awesome editing, great music!

  • Aww, should have used the original song in the credits. Either way, excellent musical choice for the montage. XD

  • Very nice editing, dude!

  • independence day missed in the list

  • Sorry I press the wrong button..

  • yeah and MIB II was added in it's place

  • I love how you had the three phases of a disaster scene (what the heck is that?, run for your life, and total destruction) and how you used the music to reflect those phases.

  • One of the finest musical compositions ever. Great editing and great video.

  • Please can you say me the name of this song ?

I know I played it when I was in college but don't remember its name.

    Thanks

  • Just read the damned credits, that's what they're there for.

  • ... It's in the description.

  • Fantastic!! New York has it pretty rough in the movies :P

  • Absolutely brilliant. Awesome editing. Great idea. In short: is goooood.

  • 9/11 WAS an inside job.... Hollywood has blood on its hands?!

  • ah what the fuck r u talking about... r u saying HOLLYWOOD new about 9/11.... please the only thing hollywood knows about is boob jobs and how to make a kick ass explosion.... this doesnt make eny sense ur reffering to hollywood as if its a person or something... its a fucking town..... ur saying that all those stuck up rich pricks who waste thousands of dollars just so there fuckin poodle can look nice for about a day new about 9/11?? some people are just stupid....

  • hahaha, speaking of stupid, i guess some people just can't get a joke sometimes. carry on

  • oh well my bad. its just that i seen several videos in a row now of ppl sayin 9/11 was an inside job and its just pissing me off.

  • STFU you stupid goddamn hick.

  • i find s1icedbread's banter to be particularly refreshing. don't stop now, old boy, you're on a roll!

i especially find the comment more satisfying given their other more recent video on 2012, and conspiracy theories in general.

  • Do you even know the context in which my comment was given? It was actually a reply to another poster's comment on how 9/11 was an inside job and that Hollywood was somehow responsible. After clicking his channel I found a video of him shooting blank shotgun rounds in various situations. Therefore I decided to pray on his simpleton ways with my comment of similar caliber. So please, if you will, fuck off.

  • ooh, excellent riposte! that was, in fact, me. I know it's hard to make a connection between my user name from the original comment and my user name from the previous comment, or even to see that i had already responded to say "lol it's a joke" using (guess what) THE SAME USER NAME. hard to figure, i know.

as for the shotgun blanks, that's for world war two reenacting, and that guy isn't me. i'm holding the camera. sorry to disappoint but i love you still.

  • LOL. every hollywood movie set in new york, pretty much summed up here. xD

  • why hollywood hates NY?

  • I'd hate to be the guy whose job it was to clean up all that mess =/

  • Great concept, and brilliant editing! Who is the pianist/orchestra?

  • This is awesome. And I love love love George Gershwin.

  • That's it I'm moving to Canada!

    * * * * * LOL

  • i think someone out there has a thing against new york

  • Six stars. Seven stars. A million stars.

  • Wow, the ending remake song is amazing!

  • Great musical Choice! I performed this piano work 3 years ago when I graduated from high school, ridiculously amazing work.

  • this brings up the question, Why NY?

  • Superlative.

  • How many times can you really destroy one city?

  • superb

  • Nice editing...

  • omfg. NY got murdered.

  • ROFL 1:44 The old guy sitting on the fountain edge!!

  • I am a Gershwin fan, so I loved that you did this to his music. Thank you, thank you, thank you. (^_^)

  • Well done!

  • Thanks kids!

  • You get 5 stars for throwing the Marshmallow Man in there.

  • @SanyaMae

I totally agree, I too love that he remembered the marshmallow man.

  • Not to be a nitpicker, but the name of the movie is just plain "Watchmen", without the word 'The' preceeding it.

    Apart from that, great job!

  • Ah, so it is.

  • haha sweet

  • When does the funny start? Oh, never.

  • this was done very well. keep it up!

  • lol. THIS version loads slow for me and the last one was fine

  • Rhapsody in Blue is awesome!! The first time I heard it was in Disney's "Fantasia 2000" which I used to watch all the time so I pretty much recognized it instantly. Oh yeah the video was good too ha ha.

  • Well i guess i won't be moving to New York..

  • it's worse than being a president in the world of 24.

  • I apologize for the horrible comment but I just have to put this out there: the bg music totally reminds me of the mongoose in the popular japanese drama Nodame Cantabile. That is all.

  • Rhapsody in Blue, if I'm not mistaking?

  • ..but at the end of the day, it still stands.

  • why do they want to destroy New York all the time?

  • it's the best place to destroy, just ask those who destroyed wtc - towers :)

  • awesome job man
