can't tell how many times i've watched this by now - absolutely something that could only happen in philly! tremendously great footage, glad you captured this gem in such a brilliant quality!
Just stumbled upon this - great stuff. Not many performers would have been comfortable with this. Bruce is the Boss. Well done Elvis too - I'd have frozen in your postition! Great fun
To The Magik Rat...........Thank you so much for posting the information. Last May my father-in-law was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma. He battled all summer with chemo and Radiation. As of Dec 2010 he was cleared of cancer. Thank you again and if EVERYONE can just donate $5 or $10 dollars then we will be able to hit our goal of $100K by April 21st. God Bless....The Philly Elvis
@rhm01 Actually when Elvis got warmed op and started singing on Blue Suede Shoes he sounded pretty good.. I think Bruce got worried for a second and had to regain control.
Very cool, Nick, you're really smooth onstage and played the part well. I looked this up after reading about it in the Reader's Digest. Looks like it was one heck of a night. Doesn't get much better than that, right?!
This is "The Philly Elvis" I appreciate everyone who enjoyed the video. I have raised money for ACS and LLS since 1992 with my entertainment. Starting Feb 24th 2011 I'll be raising money for LLS for 8 weeks. I have a show on April 16th in Harrisburg PA. ALL proceeds go to LLS. I appreciate your support.
Well it can't have been planned as "Elvis" didn't even know the right words to the song! C'mon man, if you dress like the king at least get to know his songs. Bruce is a big Elvis fan, and that's just one of the reasons he gets full marks from me! Nice he is humble enough to remember who inspired him. Not a lot of acts do that.
Been a fan for more than 30 years>>>this is a true musician. Who else these days...just decides to play a random song....yells the key to the band and they hit it? Great stuff...total improvision
Quite obviously this was NOT planned. Just look at the look of surprise was over Bruce's face as Elvis starts singing. He is quite shocked Elvis is good. His face goes from jovial, to surpirsed back to smiling. Also, Bruce is directing the band when Elvis is singing.
This is the Philly Elvis who was on stage with Bruce and the E Street Band. I have been asked many times if it was staged or a plant. I can tell you emphatically that it was not staged nor planted. It was 100% on the cuff, at the moment. I'm happy to see that most of you enjoyed the video. Thanks
@TheMagikRat This is The Philly Elvis. From Feb. 24th through April 21st I'll be performing to raise money for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. My goal is to raise 100K in 8 weeks. I NEED YOUR HELP!!!! Please go to thephillyelvis to see where I'll be performing, wher to give a monetary donation, and to spread this to everyone you know. Thanks The Philly Elvis
I can't watch this video enough! Hilarious! Loving the smile on Nils' face! Too funny!
I love that Bruce gets his fans involved in his shows. Many artists probably would not have allowed something like this. The Boss rocks.....as does "Philly Elvis"! : )
I was there -- this was no set-up. Totally impromptu. Great job King Nick But the real credit goes to Bruce and the legendary E Street Band -- they never missed a beat..
I can personally say this was not planned. Elvis was in the lottery line with all of us 4 hours before the concert started. He was lucky enough to be a low number in the lottery. Also, look at Bruce shrug his shoulders, Nils is cracking up and Max kind of rolls his eyes. Bruce knew he had to regain control after Elvis started Blue Suede Shoes. It was just spectacular.
To everyone who saw this video. My name is Nick. I'm the Elvis guy. I can tell you that it was NOT planned. I have been following Bruce since 1975. I have been to over 30 shows. This was a dream come true. I can't even describe how I'm feeling. It was truly magical!!!!!
Nick, Nice job. This is funny because I brought a sign for Suspicious Minds. I thought it had a chance because there are trumpets involved. But I'm glad we got

After all these great European shows this summer I had no clue how Bruce and The E-Street Band could ever top this.
But with all these new US shows, with all these guests and with all these rare songs played these weeks..there are only 2 things to say:
BRUCE is the greatest performer on this planet and the E-Street Band are the most incredible bunch of musicians ever seen on stage!!!!!!!!!
No more to say.
