in my job I get to meet (serve that is) celebrities all the time....Dolly is the nicest woman in the world....during a high level catered function in Chicago where rich people were lining up o get their picture taken, she took a break and came in the kitchen to eat with the staff....she would even let us get her a chair....she sat on milk crates, ate her dinner, and talked to us "workin folk" as if there was absolutely no difference between us. bless her realness.

Two of my favorite singers, two different singing styles, well, however, when you are as talented as these two genuine ladies, this is what you get, pure magic. Great clip, it is a shame that Bette's series didn't make it, besides the show was lamely written for the Divine Miss M! Dolly and Bette are real people, both ladies are what you see, they put on no fronts, real people in every sense.

The "Material Girl in the Material World" was right in tune with the materialistic, big business '80s; Dolly and Bette emerged during the '60s and '70s when things were more loose and free, when things weren't so over-produced. Hard to imagine Madonna and, say, Whitney Houston sitting around singing together like this, but that's mostly to do with the current times.
