  • ill give you 2 pennies for that

  • i have like ton of these

  • yes duh

  • ah i have only one of 1955 and other one of 1945!!

  • Nowdays pennies are made mostly of copper-coated zinc because copper itself is too expensive to make pure copper pennies. Even the zinc pennies we have now cost more than one cent to make. If you have a bunch of old pure copper pennies you could take them to a metal recycler and get more than the face value of them as the copper in an old penny is worth more than one cent.

  • The earliest penny I ever got back in change was a 1911 penny and it was in remarkably good shape considering how old it was. Most pennies that old are really worn down quite a bit from the years of handling.

  • @theskeptic2010 as change

  • @theskeptic2010 my dads oldest coin is from 1910 and he has three steel pennies

  • I actually got one back in my change a few years ago. Enough of them were made to where they aren't that valuable as collector coins however. Looks just like a copper penny only it's made of steel. There was a severe shortage of copper during World War II. Most copper was being used as shell casings for bullets and larger shells for ammunition. What wasn't being used for that was being used for electronic wiring. So for a while they made pennies out of steel instead of copper during WWII.

  • @theskeptic2010 yea u can look it up online and it says that copper pennies cost a lot more than steel pennies

  • i have a lot

  • I have one!

  • Very nice!

  • @LocustaVampa thanks

  • my dad found 3, 1 for me 1 for my older sister and 1 for my yunger sis . oh and actually its steel dipped in a silver color and they are steel because in the 40's they needed copper for the war effort u can tell if its real if it sticks to a magnet

  • @Gugfuben yea if it sticks to a magnet it steel i think

  • Its copper and it's a wheat penny.
