  • 0:36 makes me smile.

  • Love how the music suddenly quiets down when it shows James Newton Howard on the credits.

    M. Night Shyamalan must have done it to acknowledge that it's his music that made half the film.

  • It sounds simple, yet is very, very smart. The whole score is based around three notes, basically.

  • Come back from the rotten side M. Night, you have good potential somewhere in there ;_;

  • This movie wouldn't have been scary if the music wasn't there. It scared me when I saw it! =)

  • I used to be REALLY scared of this part, when the words jump out at you with the intense music! I would be more scared of that than anything else in the movie xD considering I was like 7 or something? I was pretty freaked out.

  • I really don't why but to me the credits gets a little silly after 1:17.

  • @fROmTh3fUTURe That's the best part in my opinion.

  • @fROmTh3fUTURe Haha, I know exactly what you mean. I love this movie, and I think the soundtrack is it's biggest asset. That said, since I've seen the movie so many times, the part you mentioned beginning at 1:17 indeed seems a bit silly. It's so action packed... and essentially the audience is reading. LOL. It's brilliant, but I can't help but smile during it now since I'm familiar with the movie now. The first time I saw it though, I was on the edge of my seat. :)

  • @Ipso80 Me too, this film disturbed me when I saw this in theaters and the music really introduced the creepy atmosphere of the film. Can you believe this was back when Shyamalan had momentum going. After Village, he lost his touch for some reason.

  • Gives me chills. It's AWESOME!! Makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

  • This entire video is sharp, and a bit faster that the origional.

  • one of the simplest yet one of the best openings ive ever seen! the music rocks!

  • M. Night and James Newton Howard make a fantastic team. One is a fabulous director with plenty of old-school sensibilities (keeping the monsters in the dark as symbolism, etc), and James Newton Howard is just one of the best composers working today.

  • James Newton Howard always delivers! I love his scores! They're easily the best thing in most M. Night Shyamalan movies. I can't wait to see what he does with The Last Airbender!

  • Best score of any movie i've ever heard.

    BEST SCORES FROM A MOVIE:

    1. Signs

    2. City of Ember

    3. Cloverfield

    4. Left Behind: World at War

    5. Left Behind

  • how does this remind you of phsyco? phsyco is not as nearly as a great movie as this.

  • This movie is great, but not as great as psycho...you say foolish things

  • @mack503

The music is very Bernard Herrman-like.

  • @mack503 i think is far more suspensul that Psycho's theme, don't get me wrong, Psycho's theme is chilling the violins nerve wracking but with this the danger is brought up ten fold...its just fucking amazing

  • it reminds me of psycho...

  • awesome soundtrack!

all of the inner parts are amazing

  • THE BEST MOVIE EVER

  • Does this remind anyone of Jurassic Park?

  • WTF! jurassic park???????

  • Nope.

  • yah the song from 1:08 onwards sounds like the song from jurassic park when the raptors are chasing the kids around the kitchen

  • Yeah starngely it does!

  • He was going for the feel of the Psycho credits, and it works!

  • Wow. It raises the hair on my neck. So chilling.

  • Anyone know where i can download this song?

  • Try using a youtube to mp3 converter, worked for me..;)

  • this is a great movie, to bad he hasnt made a decent movie since signs.

  • This is one of the best opening credits I´ve ever seen. The music just freaks me out and I can´t stop listening to it. It is just a really scary music and the best thing is that is only based on classic horror movie music; it is not a horror movie music. That is just brilliant. James Newton Howard is a wonderful composer and M. Night Shyamalan is one of the best screenplayers and directors.

    Signs rules!!!!

  • Right when SIGNS came up i jumped it just poped up wot the music just loud

  • this soundtrack is my ringtone! Soooooo cool

  • Amazing movie, even more amazing music. I especially love this opening credits, very Hitchcock.

  • This was a great movie with a great soundtrack..

M.Night Shyamalan and James Newton Howard are a great team together...

  • One time when I was watching the movie, the music scared my cat so bad its hair stood on end and it was hissing!

  • lol great cat !!!!

    really funny to imagine! haha

  • this main title fits so perfectly for a "chase scene" or soemthing like that. well, it does fit to the movie and makes it even more scary, but image this music to an alien or aliens chasing graham through the crop field... dude... wow ^^

  • dont listen to this in the dark

  • at 00:37 gives me the creeps

  • I wonder how this movie was ignored at Oscar time. I thought at least Shyamalan should have been nominated for Original Screenplay, and Best Director, the suspense was unbearable at times, and brilliantly directed, and James should have been nominated. I mean if he was for The Village, why not Signs?

  • I loved the movie so much because of this music. True, really scary.

  • Ahh! The first part with the violin freaks me out so much! *shivers*

  • the music makes the movie scarier then it is.

    the music is great btw!

  • the music makes this movie, nice video thanks for putting it on

  • Awesome from 1:23

  • this music scares me every time

  • omg those titles just show the standard of the film. I love it so much

  • i agree

  • This movie scared me sh*tless... it's not even that bad after 5x, but I really have this fear of extra-terrestrials and weird animals like spiders and all...

  • hitchcockesque

  • thanks for uploading this, the soundtrack is awesome. this movie is amazing

  • Cheers. It's probably one of the most spin chilling soundtracks ever. BTW I love TicTacs too. 'Specially Lime and Orange variety.

    Guaravandejo!!!

  • lol i remember when I saw the movie when it came out. My cousin scared me when the music got loud. I screamed LOL LOL

  • Muzyka z tego filmu jest genialna.Sam film z resztą też!!!
