Tchaikovsky used to have rather negative opinions on ballet music by composers such as Delibes. But when he was commissioned to score for Swan Lake, he did a lot of research in Delibes' music and totally changed his perspective. He found that "infectious" melodies play an important role in ballet music, and decided to exploit the use of "leitmotif" in his music for Swan Lake, as well as in Sleeping Beauty.

Gabriele want to dance Walzer if I hear this music. I like this music. I like long opulente evening clothes. I have this clothes in black, red, brown and blue. I feel me with these clothes as Cinderella.
