Speaking for me, I think that at this place in time, (early 1970's) Bob Crane did this supportive ad for the USAF. To show that the Air Force was accepting of female and male cadets for their officer corps. My dad retired from the USAF and always commented that they were far ahead of the other forces for incorporating ladies into their ranks. Equal status, equal pay and equal promotions. God bless Bob for this public service announcement...he was a true blue American, in my opinion. Peace.
Did Larry Hagman do a commercial in his Major Nelson uniform, that would have been a good one too. In fact this was the best way to get into the computer industry at the time.
Sorry I'm late with this. I agree with jeangirl13. I hate people who leave rude comments about Bob based on the rumors they've heard or read. I have it on good authority from someone who is writing a bio on his life that he was a good and decent man who was also a loving father, very generous with people, an excellent drummer, and very appreciative of his fans. He was also very handsome and charming with a lot of charisma. BTW: I loved your video. So, don't speak ill of Bob and let the man RIP.
Since no one who makes movies or writes books or leaves comments about bob crane has no idea what he was really like and how he lived his life other than rumors started by others who didn't know him, let's all stop pretending we do and leave the man at rest.
@jeanzgirl13 lol yeah I'm sure he was a real stand up guy. Pummeled everything that moved and got divorced. It's gals like you who enable these pigs. You're more proof that women have horrible taste in men
I'd say this first appeared around 1967, at the time the series was hitting its peak of popularity, and Bob, because he portrayed a fictional Air Force officer, was asked by several branches of the military to help in their recruitment campaigns on TV AND radio. This is one example...
Bob Crane wsa not only a great drummer but was definitely a handsome and charming man.His birthday recently passed on 7/13 and he is terribly missed.RIP.
Bob Crane, in his 'Hogan's Heroes' attire, in a U.S.A.F. commercial.; Clever!

@WhiteSlift That's right, because there was no air force back then.

Still enjoy watching Hogan's Hereos and remembering what a great actor he was.
So good looking and charming what a shame that his life ended the way it did.
We still miss you Bob and rest in peace.

@IantheLiberal No one forced any woman to sleep with Bob Crane. Not very "liberal" of you I must say.
