@NotoriousVick If you are referring to the bottom teeth at 47:00 they are called "chains" and this is simply to help close the gaps in my teeth (that i had from the 4 extractions) rather than each tooth individually (like the top teeth) this is a longer strip called a chain helps all the teeth pull together.

I think the ortho should have allowed him to keep a full set of teeth. Extractions can cause numerous problems.  I am in the process of saving to reverse this procedure.

@luigymack60809 On my 6th month here the braces look different and my other refers to this as "CHAINS" they help the gaps in my teeth close by pulling my teeth closer together. (Its basically a long chain they stretch onto each individual bracket on each tooth) forcing all the teeth to pull closer together. The others are on each bracket individually. My ortho goes back and forth each month I never know what I'm getting until I'm there and he sees how the process is going.

Nice vid - I really wish I had documented my progress. I was quoted 2.5 years in braces and ended up with amazing luck. My teeth slid into place within months and by month 11 the braces came off. Just make sure you're diligent with that retainer, even missing a day can be painful! lol.

@LuvRband4e Well at first, it'll look pretty much the same, just with braces on top. But I had a gap as well, and once they put the chain on there, which will be within your 2-3rd visit, your teeth move FAST.

@ciresica2000 They don't hurt. They'll just be sore when they tighten them of course, but you'll get used to it & the pain will go away within a couple of days or so.

& Don't worry, time goes by fast. By the time you know it, you'll have your braces off! ;D

@ciresica2000 I had braces for a year and half, and while it's definantly not the best feeling in the world, it's not all that painful. The only times your teeth will hurt is after you get your braces tightened or moved. The actual process of getting them on doesnt hurt, it's just slightly uncomfortable. But believe me, the process is worth it!

@ciresica2000 I personally did not have to get that, but my friend did. It's just because her teeth were slightly more complicated, and so when they put the braces on, it kind of directed her teeth in the right path rather then them just jumbling into a big mess. I doubt you will have to keep it the entire time you have your braces though.

Takes about 3-4 days for the initial pain to stop (just take painkillers) and about 2 weeks the soft tissues f your mouth to adjust. Get some orthodontic wax, you just put it over any places that are rubbing and it stops them hurting, and gives your mouth time to adjust. I'm on week 3 of new braces and no longer feel them.
