Same game as it was 5 years ago when I played. Same music, same town, same characters, same click to move lol. Joymax simply relabled Silkroad to Silkroad "R" to have a promotional "open beta" to draw in new players thinking it might actually be in a new game. This game used to be amazing, if it was legitmately updated, it's probably the game I'd be playing because it used to be amazing...today..no...its arcade style pvp is awesome, it's too bad they're too cheap to update it...with atleast WASD

@RomanKnight88 Well for example the chinese character's Forces (Fire,Cold etc) are now all put into 1 Major Skill Tree known as Force also the leveling curve has been made much easier also the classes are way more balanced now (For example Wizards do less damage now) and there are new skills for all classes and of course some minor and major bugs and glitches have been fixed :I
@RomanKnight88 SilkroadR is more quest based, early game of what i can see u dont get any money which makes gold farming/botting gone. Your armor is givin to you for free in town so no need for grinding for money. Your skills are locked till your lvl 5 which makes the game more balanced.

@SwirldeR Less exp to reach lvls, less sp to get masterys, you got about 2.6x exp, no gold or item drop until lvl 71, they give you sos wep and armour and accesories until D8

@chaosrave the skill system is much more balanced, you don't get gold until lv 70 (keeps away gold bots)
And whats the best, the leveling is alot of more faster, they've balanced the exp system aswell. The quests has got new life, so people do the quests, in Sro nearly nobody did them. Then there are the outposts where you can get the quests from.
Mainly it's just more balanced and more userfriendly than the Silkroad Online.

correction on the assumption for why they relaunched, chances are its because a majority of the old players prefered the triangular conflict in the trade system, ever since they upgraded the original silkroad client to a thief vs hunter system the game kinda lost its popularity...I of many others left for that reason, new game system got way too boring
heloow im a active payer on isro and sroR if you ask me play it but you need a bot if you wonna get lvl 120 or you wil be doing years to get lvl 120 so my advice is use a bot
but if you wonna get a story around it do the qeust ( all qeust) on isro you dont get free seal of stars so play sroR there you get it for free

@44328FIRE Nope! Joymax intends to run both games at the same time. I never played the original and even mentioned in the video that the "upgrades" they made might have been better served as an update to the original game instead of a "new" game.
it's fun till you get to about level 20 and realise you are taking at least 10 hours to level....and the old game used to force buying items to make it worthwhile staying out killing mobs.
also, the previous silkroad was overwhelmed in bots,scams, gold farmers and so on....
you used to be not able to enter the server for around half an hour...i remember the hardest thing to be logging in! i would not reccomend this game as a free MMO guys, i'd go elsewhere :)

more room for the botters to expand their business. theyve already put up shop in this version from what it says on their forums. 1st and only time I tried this "game" was about 2 years ago. took me 2 weeks of trying to connect to it once. All realms were packed all the time with botters. Once in the game, I played it for 30 minutes, logged off then uninstalled it. The game is in no way worth the time I wasted connecting to it. Id sooner play Perfect World, and that game sucks.

I also "played" SRO for some time. I started 2007 with friends and played for about 1-2 months and reached lvl 49 (keep ur comments "what only 49 .." I also got a life..). Lvling is WAY too slow. You need ages to lvl up on your own. Therefore I quit. Some time later bots arrived and I used one too 'cause, well..lvling.. At this time I had fun with friends in thiefing/hunting/trading with lvl 63!!Oh yes 63, not 120FF Prem+ or whatever. If u wanna play u need to bot and waste big money.ADVISE:DONT

Seems like most of you feel the same way as the Silkroad forums I read through before doing this video. While I never played the original Silkroad, I could not see most of the changes Joymax made to this version. I hope that it takes care of some of the botting that the original seemed to be plagued with though. And yes...my favorite part was the doorbell when logging in as well. :)

@44328FIRE Nope! Joymax intends to run both games at the same time. I never played the original and even mentioned in the video that the "upgrades" they made might have been better served as an update to the original game instead of a "new" game.

it's fun till you get to about level 20 and realise you are taking at least 10 hours to level....and the old game used to force buying items to make it worthwhile staying out killing mobs.
also, the previous silkroad was overwhelmed in bots,scams, gold farmers and so on....
you used to be not able to enter the server for around half an hour...i remember the hardest thing to be logging in! i would not reccomend this game as a free MMO guys, i'd go elsewhere :)

@MrSnooktv And don't forget in old silkroad at level 110+ you needed 20-30 days 24/7 grinding to get a level.
If anyone want's to try silkroad, go ahead, but I recommend a private server if you want to have fun with it.

Somebody must tell to Joymax that we want a BIG CHANGE in silkroad .Silkroad is good game,but we want more quests which is easy to complete and rates must be 8x toward now.Silkroad still one of the best MMORPG games ,silkroad respect ;)

to all the guys who says the game is the same , well its not.
i started playing silkroad R from about 5 days and im already lv46 now
the game is free u dont have to charge gold or silk like in sro,
u can have God's Bless every 24h and it last for 5h 100%exp and sp,
every 10 lvls u get a full sos set from ur choose - armor ,light armoror rope,
a sos wepon, u dont have 2 go for a taxi , u just do quests,
and there is the coin system which is made so there cant be gold bots,gold drops after lv72

more room for the botters to expand their business. theyve already put up shop in this version from what it says on their forums. 1st and only time I tried this "game" was about 2 years ago. took me 2 weeks of trying to connect to it once. All realms were packed all the time with botters. Once in the game, I played it for 30 minutes, logged off then uninstalled it. The game is in no way worth the time I wasted connecting to it. Id sooner play Perfect World, and that game sucks.

I also "played" SRO for some time. I started 2007 with friends and played for about 1-2 months and reached lvl 49 (keep ur comments "what only 49 .." I also got a life..). Lvling is WAY too slow. You need ages to lvl up on your own. Therefore I quit. Some time later bots arrived and I used one too 'cause, well..lvling.. At this time I had fun with friends in thiefing/hunting/trading with lvl 63!!Oh yes 63, not 120FF Prem+ or whatever. If u wanna play u need to bot and waste big money.ADVISE:DONT

@HedrzVTC yeah times ago where silkroad was filled by these guys...Now the most guys are from england,spain and germany...The community got better and there are good as no bots now...You can enjoy the game now because of the Token system.
If you loved that game (you played it 3 years), you should give it a try when its finally released ;)

Seems like most of you feel the same way as the Silkroad forums I read through before doing this video. While I never played the original Silkroad, I could not see most of the changes Joymax made to this version. I hope that it takes care of some of the botting that the original seemed to be plagued with though. And yes...my favorite part was the doorbell when logging in as well. :)
