  • Cute ... but the most beautiful, fastest and an utterly gorgeous -- see the Sonett V: Design Inspiration for the Vector W2 & Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS on Wiki -- Saab or for that matter Sonett, if there ever was such thing. What is weird is that despite Saab Sweden having been reported to have received detailed and multiple image files of that c. 1971 Los Angeles International Show Car Design Winner ... back in c. 1999, they claim no knowledge: SERGIO! That is weird ... in-fighting ... legacy robbery.

  • sonnet 3's were not 2 strokes

  • I gotta be honest, i was waiting for the guy to leap for his life as the engine exploded!

It sounds really shit by the way :(

  • i think it redlines at 46,000rpm.

  • I swear, if Saabs had wings, they'd hit the shopping carts!

  • @MartyThuman saabs do have wings lol saab started as an airplane company, just a lil info for ya

  • Heldige Chris Moberg, sier jeg bare. Fy søren.

  • It was miss firing on the dyno, braking up above 5K (right where the power band starts). Redline 8500, if memory serves I had them take it up to 7500. It has made 130HP on a dynojet since then.

  • Holy smokes! What is the RPM limit of this beast?

    Nice job!

  • Two-stroke engines have RPM limits of like three million RPM

  • thas not a 2 stroke

  • This car is a 4-stroke though.

  • God I love that sound. Should have never sold our Sonett. But wait, now its 96 project time. What exhaust set up is he running?

  • All hail the V4 engine. Sounds better than any inline 4 I've ever heard.

  • It sounds just like an inline four because it really is an inline. This isn't a true "V" engine as it has a dedicated crank-throw for each cylinder whereas a real "V" has opposing cylinders sharing a common crank-throw. So actually it sounds like an inline-4

  • Love Chris's Sonnett! Little autocross monster.

  • I loved the 2 strokers, but the tractor motors were awesome when done right.

    Doc

  • oh, yeah, it sounds like sex, too.

  • I have a 1971, and it says stock they have 65.

I really need to work in it...

  • If memory serves, about 95hp. If I'm wrong I'm sure Chris will correct me.

  • It's been a while since I checked out the buildup of Yellow Thunder but I thought he was in the 150hp range at the flywheel....

  • How come I am the one who always asks: "what was the out come?"?

    Jeremy
