Not for this one. The whole concept here was to perform the work on the ORIGINAL instuments, but with modern recording technology, to give a superior sound.

Sequencers, samplers, remote controllers, and lasers instruments were not invented in 1976!!!!

So, not just re-mastering the original recording, it is in effect a NEW recording.

I find this disappointing to be honest. I very much doubt that this is a brand new live recording (going on this video) as I cannot tell a single difference from the original album version, it's just 'far too' perfect. I was at least expecting something that sounded 'slightly' different - especially 30 years on.

I haven't bought any of his albums since Chronologie and on this aint gonna change that.

The fact that they recreated this from scratch... maybe Jarre took (and kept) detailed notes as to what sounds were created by what synth and all that. Still, eight hands required to play that piece. Absolutely amazing. Not much different than a four person band, of course, but still fantastic.
