@Aynotan what's your point? you can't be a filmmaker and not be influenced by white directors, considering they are the majority in the industry. there certainly aren't many black filmmakers of note. I fail to see the point you think you've made.

Despite Lee's influences, he still manages to create his OWN imagery and tell his own stories and remain original.

@TheStudyOfPedro I could say "what about other races" to many White, Mexican, Asian (ect.) film directors, but it's not that serious to me...film directors have the right to write and produce based on their own interests, and I don't see anything wrong with that. Instead of being all upset about it, maybe you should put that energy into getting into the film industry yourself and strive to write/produce movies based on diverse racial experiences!
