@icsawwdf my guess would be because you got used to the Ishimura of DS1, with all its creepiness. you knew to watch the vents and worry. you read the creepy messages and had a human reaction. then someone changed the environment you knew and feared, covered up the blood and creepiness YOU KNEW WAS STILL THERE. those bloody messages were one of your only human connections in DS1, and they have been erased. the memories covered up, but not banished. hell redecorated is still hell.
