wow! i've been doing it wrong. when i let my son lay around naked i put a diaper on him when he fusses out of no where bcuz it seems he has to pee or poop. now im gonna put him on a potty
wonderful video!!! Going to start potty training today! and its SO good to see a BOY, for some reason, the majority of videos I've come across are of girls and I was getting discouraged, since everyone seems to tell me boys are harder.
@213katie Thank you! Btw...boys are no harder than girls. With PT and EC, it's really only different anatomically. And at this age, *everyone* sits. :)
@ECSimplified Just so you know, I've been trying this ever since I saw the video. I felt bad, thought I'd trained him to go in the diaper already since he is 7 months old and used to diapers, but after only 2 weeks he goes almost every single time i put him on his potty. He understands what his potty chair is for, now I just need to find the best way to get him to understand NOT to pee in the diaper, ya know?
@213katie Oh I'm so happy to hear that you've tried it and it's going well Katie! The best way to teach him not to pee in the diaper is to be consistent. He will start to hold it. And at 9-12 months, ditch the diapers, switch to undies, and don't look back. :) Good luck!
@wahineokeakua It depends on your baby's age. I recommend the Baby Bjorn Smart Potty for all ages starting with when the baby has some neck control (for us, 12 lbs at 6 weeks)...just hold baby on it. The top hat potty is good for travel/car use at most small ages (0-9 mos). See my gear page for my full reviews at ecsimplified slash gear - Hope this helps you!! Aloha, Andrea
@wahineokeakua And, almost forgot! The bEcoPotty is great for babies who can sit on their own...it's made of plant materials so it biodegrades when you're finished with it...is low to ground with a good back for easy sitting and squatting! :) Andrea
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see a Momma know to say, "You went peepee" instead of "Good Job" or even "Good PeePee". I am an Early Educator and don't see this often!
@TAP0321 Thanks! I just wish I would have known earlier (as you can see by my edit)...but, being a Mother is constant learning. Thanks for your unique perspective as an educator! :)
Have you ever heard of kai don ku, it is baby clothes made in china that has a opening in the crotch to make it easy to potty train... they are sold for as young as a month old. I saw first hand in china, when I was extorting in pediatric tuna, children being potty trained this young... good for you!!!!!!
@earthom777 Hi! I have heard of them (there's a photo of some in my book on EC) but I've never heard the official name. You have helped me so much by posting this tidbit of info...thanks!!
I love how you specifically say good pee pee and not good boy. I'm all about commenting on the behavior and not the child. Babies are perfect! Thank you so much for sharing!
@CanadaDre Thanks! We've currently moved beyond even that and are now just reflecting "You went peepee in the potty!...or wherever!" Babies ARE perfect...thanks for watching! :)
I watched EC videos on my phone when my daughter was 6 months old. Now that she'll be 3 next month (and still in diapers), I wish I had at least given this a shot.
did someone notice the guy at 1.23 minutes leaving the bathroom dressing a towel ? XD

@jumarcosmar Hahah! I was wondering when someone would notice...that's my husband. He quickly went back into the bathroom LOL!
