@Bigblue091 No...she sometimes dreams and might tremble and make a funny noise!! She LOVES people and wants to jump into their arms when they come. After a few minutes she just lays down. If you want her to go in the water take her in your arms and just hold her securely for a while and then put her out. Chloe loved the water from the start but my other bichon, Sunny, did not like it until I started doing this. Then he would come by the side of the pool and cry for me to take him in.

@sunny32793 Ya my chloe loves people too. Haha she also will bark and jump into them when she see's them. And like your dog she stops quickly. She gets bored very fast lol. I guess i could try that with my dog. I'm afraid she might get mad at me if she doesn't like it lol.

Yeah, so this whole thing about bichons being water dogs...I dropped mine in the bathtub once and he nearly drowned. He also wouldn't "talk" to me for about a month.

@Vesnicie You made me laugh out loud!! Bichons are so like little people with fur!

My first Bichon, Sunny, fell in the pool as a puppy and never liked to go in the pool As he got older I would just hold him in my arms in the pool and then let him swim to the steps. he then would come to the side of the pool and cry for me to take him in and hold him.

@sunny32793 Awww! And of course it is absolutely impossible to deny our bichons any care and affection, especially when they're crying in that special way they have. Little buggers get me every time.

oh its not fair mine hates the pool i want a swimming dog! but she does go in the river, i guess cos she can feel something under her feet.

Take her in the pool and hold her in your arms and let her get comfortable and then let her swim.

Thank you! She just loves the water. I have to keep her cut a little shorter in the summer because her fur is so thick it weights her down when she swims. I thought about a life jacket for her but she hates clothes and I think it might stop her from going in the pool. After she swims she lays on the top step. Let me know if you have any videos if Lili..I'll bet she is adorable. I would love to see her. Nice to hear from another Bichon lover! :-)

Chloe is quite the swimmer. Did she start young. I think Clara at 13 is too "mature" at her age to learn the dog paddle. Too bad, she would have enjoyed it too. Thanks for watching our Clara, we will continue to keep an eye on Chloe ...

She jumped into the pool the first day we brought her home, 9 weeks old! She is just a water lover. My other bichon Sunny did not like the pool, he just wanted me to hold him in the water and then he would swim to the steps and get out. It is hard to believe Clara is 13!! WOW! She is in great shape and VERY beautiful! Hugs to Clara! :-)
