WOW, one can't be only utter WOW in amazement at the sheer hypocrisy of Lindsey German, on the one hand she wants 'white socialists' to go and 'raise the level of politics' of British south asian muslims and on the other she has opposition to this war which is a mere extension of Britian's colonial project which is done in the name of raising level 'civilised' 'democratic' politics among the afghans.

I support Lindsay's stance. However, I would be wary of wasting time on the sophistry of public polls. Even if we learn that 99% of people support occupation of Afghanistan it is still wrong in every way. We need more history-the historical content was the best and most important part of Lindsay's speach.

Actually there isn't too much truth here. She doesn't mention the fact that Afghanistan had 0% of opium prior to American/UK involvement. Al Qaeda which much like Bin Laden is a CIA creation and asset then appeared following American invasion and opium production went up to 80%. The Taliban appeared and ousted Al Qaeda and opium production goes to 0%! Surprise! Surprise! Blair and Bush invade for `democracy' and opium production goes to 90% of world production. This is the reason for war.
