If you happen to update your DSi - XL when you visited the DSi shop, you shouldn't have done that because now, not only your DSi - XL is locked, no R4's, Acekard, and all of the other chips and flash cart can get access to your DS. So... this pretty much means your fucked. And don't EVER register your DS or update it.

Also it sometimes depends on the type of r4i u get. My dsi is updated to 1.4.1 and my r4i is 1.4.1. but some r4i can't be updated.

Just pointing out that the r4i is functioning properly. It's just the dsi that isn't. I tried using my r4i on my friends ds and it functioned fine. But with my ds it had problems. Maybe just buy a new ds when ur old one breaks.

you have to put your r4i in your pc and download and put the kernal update onto the r4i now that you updated your dsi.it might work again

@hinakimichan well if you have v1.4 I recommend to not update it...but if you want to update just go to settings scroll to the last tab (4) touch system update and accept all the questions that dsi gives you.

i have the same problem. went on the dsi shop once to see something then it offered for me to update the dsi so i did then it shut down. i went back on and tried playing but the same notification popped up. i tried formatting the whole dsi i dint have much on it anyway so i did and it still wouldnt play the games

@shrek209100 I wouldnt recommend if you have a flash cart, like r4i or AceKard2i. There are updates to bypass the things, but its your choice.

@SuperMattman5 lol! what a load of bullshit, the problem is software related. 1.4U blocks R4 cards and any other cards like that. The only thing that will work in your DSi after the update is legitimate game cards from game stores.

I know, sad stuff, you COULD RISK BREAKING YOUR DSi THOUGH! you could open it and see if there's a chip or something, put it into the computer and somehow try to edit the files to get it working or you can put DSi ROMS on from there!!! Or maybe convert the nds files to bin files and copy them onto the thing! Remember to backup your files! Also, I don't know if this is possible. Use this tip at your own risk!
