A 7 inch Ipad would be perfect, I got rif of my ipad, too big to carry around. But Steve Jobs has publicly said a 7 inch Ipad would be too small, I hope now that he is gone they wake up. We need something halfway between the ipod and ipad. I think a 7 inch version will come someday, just not in the next 2 years.

exactly i dont see the point in making a new ipad that is smaller, if you buy a smaller ipad then y not just buy and ipod touch they are cheaper. if the are thinking of making a new 1 then why not just update these ipads that are out now, i have an ipad and if they did bring out an improved version the same size then i would buy it but not if its smaller

the whole point in buying an ipad is because its like a laptop and i wouldnt want a smaller one

They need to reduce the borders around the screen on iPads similar to current iPod Touch and iPhone, that way if they make a 7 inch iPad it would be easier to be carried even it may fit in a large pocket. The current design looks a lot like a digital frame.

check out samsungs galaxy pad its 6 inch i think. and its still much bigger than the ipod touch. Trust me i tryed it.

@AppleOcarinaOfMac Rumors says that facetime (video calling) will likely be in the 2g iPad since it came to ipod and iphone so i don't think the original ipad will grow a faceing and backgrounding camera ;Pp so it definetlay worth it and i believe the retina display will be somthing basic and expected in the new ipad ;)

@AppleOcarinaOfMac if it has the retina display, it will cost about $2000. the only reason the iPhone 4 was not more expensive is beause it is small.
