  • song begins around 1:25

  • An overdose of cute :).

  • Yay for random Logo videos!!

  • Nice song but it was never a single.

  • I thought they were Scottish...?

  • @chartreusepigeon Belle are.

  • No way they are brits, not with those smiles... Wow.

  • hello guys, try listen White shoes and the couples company . :)

  • All of those girls are so hot. 60's style!! :) luv it!

  • this girl is just beautiful

the first one that starts singing

  • i´m going to all the 3 concerts in edinburg, london and the hague!!!

they say edinburg is the last concert ever?

    nooooooooooooooo!!!

  • So bland and lifeless it's hypnotic...

  • remind me sundays cocteau twins ...

  • me.... Im just a bit jealous I dont have the skills .. down in the water

  • This is my Song Of The Year ! Sheer beauty ! Heavenly strings !

Can't help listening to it over and over and over again. And Catherine Ireton is an angel. Overwhelming.

  • Beautiful girls, beautiful voices, beautiful music. Oh god i love this.

  • Tharg, I also have fallen for her voice, amongst other things.

  • Has Catherine Ireton recorded any other material? I have fallen in love with her voice

  • she´s the singer of the goawaybirds - an edinburg-glasow-cooperation. check it out!

  • Thanks. I've started a fbook group (The Catherine Ireton Appreciation Society) that's got links to some of her Elephant stuff too

  • a Limerick-Edinburgh co-operation. good stuff as well

  • MAGIC ON A SUNDAY MORNING..........

  • God Help the Girl is everything that Camera Obscura used to be, before Camera Obscura got so depressing and whiney.

  • Jaw droppingly brilliant!

  • She's wonderful... a very beautiful young woman ... but not as beautiful as her voice I would say!

  • A music that just flow; very nice indeed.

But, from my humble view, please cut the first minute of the video ....

  • Who is that highly recognisable young actor?

  • thats some sweet piece of ass!

  • She is the same singer that sings on the title track, "Gold Help the Girl", right? Her voice is magnificent.

  • Do these women actually exist? I havent dreamed this have I?

  • it's crazy how they look like their straight from the 50s and not some girls from the 00s acting like they're from the 50s

  • A girl doing all that "cute girl stuff" that catherine does swinging and looking like that can make my heart breaks in 1.504.256 pieces.

  • Alex... <3 Sooo awesome!!

  • Nice song, nice band, y estoy enamorado de las tres por dios lo que sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooon

  • beautiful song, wonderful voices, great video!

  • Finally a real musical voice and a nice song !

Thanks and continue on this way.

    Ciao

  • not bad, a nice light sassy tune to make the day go better

  • The "comedy" bit in the beginning sucks. Who the fuck wrote that?

Skip to 1:22 to watch and listen to an AWESOME SONG!

  • Thanks for the skip, I'm agree to you

  • i love the singeeeerrrr

  • fritzo62-I agree, this is good and does resemble The Smiths some, but it's nowhere near as good. It needs more guitar.

  • modern music could use more arrangements like this with strings

  • love stuart... . dont car for this song though

  • super! podoba mi się ich styl! Genialne!

  • Quite nice... hum.. somehow something is missing. It's....errr. like "The Smiths". Without Morrissey. And without Johnny Marr :P But nice.

  • lol the 'intro' to the video comes off like the start of a hipster porno. Cool record for sure but the whole film/soundtrack/multimedia idea is a fail.

  • no need to vote me down, i'm just saying i'd rather have a samsung solstice than watch the video.

  • I'm unfamiliar with this band... I don't know if the guy is actually a part of the band or just there for the video. I was thinking, if he is a member of the band I seriously doubt he'll ever have the urge to go solo... not surrounded by THREE AWESOME BABES (with talent). Lucky stiff.

  • i got stiff.

  • He's from Belle and Sebastian, and the mastermind behind God Help the Girl; Stuart Murdoch.

  • he is part of the band but the 3 girls arn't usually i think. except 4 this CD. :)

  • Awesome Ladies How did this guy get the part Lucky Bastard!! I love the song just for a Guy like me from an earlier ear!!

  • just my kinda thing =)

  • it's the 'Jeopardy' Boy lol

  • i know i just got that! my cousin made me watch it with him!

  • what a refreshing song and video. though i'm a child of the 80s this song somehow takes me back to a simpler, less cynical and jaded time my parents grew up in.

  • Love it!!!!!!

  • this song has made my day.

  • This song is typical of the tone and style of the album, so if you like this, I strongly urge you to buy the album. It'll make your summer!

  • This is a beautiful song. I love it.

  • Finally...after years caught in the doldrums, music appears to be in a renaissance-with real vocals and violins and... a video my grandkids can enjoy too. Susan Boyle, Duffy, these talented ladies and The Sounds, I love it.

  • i concure it seems like a combination of iluminating, thoughtful lyrics with 50s doo wop vibe

  • cool video, great song

  • what ever happend to mtv actually playing good music like this not stupid reality shows all dayy!!

  • mabey one of these day man......

  • ....? why did you watch this video then? Hmm?

  • @rhondalynne1 who knows, this world is coming to shit

  • I just love how far Catherine and the rest of the two girls have come! Such a great project.

  • This vid & song are simply enchanting. Love it.

  • I thought this was wonderful :~))

    Beautiful song ... beautiful people!

I will buy myself the album tomorrow!

  • The song's appeal is its sincerity. I think what we all wish for when we feel the sting of sentiment (which Murdoch has for the 60s in a major way) is a time when we could say we were in love without thinking it's unrealistic or cliche or saccharine; the strength of most anything Murdoch does is that irony is used as a way of __making a point__, instead of being __the point itself__. Harmony, hope, humor, innocence, a sense that life is a lovely, fragile, fading thing.

  • I think it's more a "knowing innocence" than innocence proper, something fought for and earned rather than something given and assumed. It's the difference between happiness because you don't know pain and happiness because you do.

  • What a great trio of talent and beauty.

  • dreamy, totally dreamy.

  • The guy at the start of the video was in Jeopardy, the best childrens drama ever.

  • Is the guy with the guitar the same who plays the role of Bernard Sumner in Control?

  • Sure looks like him!

  • The Irish girl could steal my gin any day....

    ....any day, any day.

  • ok so murdoch ripped off dylan...the state im in= (i want you).also cliff and the shads etc etc.all good but why oh why did he rip off morissey. in this song.......spot the theft if you can?

  • i don't think it's theft just because they used the line 'Crashing bores', i take it thats what your referring to..

  • I love the internet. That comparison between The State I Am In and Dylan's I Want You is so rediculous it's laughable. I challenge anyone to listen to Dylan's first and then B&S's next. No one would ever make that connection for one reason: There not at all alike! I love the internet...P.S. Morrisey is a fraction of the talent of Murdoch IMHO...

  • I'm more a piano man. We could disagree all day about it but we will not see eye to eye. There is a website where they can find something like over 100 songs that 'rip-off' any song you choose. The point is that there are limitations to expansion of existing music. And, yes it is a grower...cheers

  • Absolutely brilliant! Beautiful song, beaufitul lyrics, beautiful girls ... amazing ... Stuart Murdoch is a genius.

  • Must have heard the song about a hundred times. Can't get it out of my head. The vocal is so enchanting. I've even contactet my local newspaper in Norway, and asked them to do a review of the record. I'm guessing this could be the record of the year if enough people get to listen to it.

  • When she said "special signal" i knocked my mug of coffee all over the keyboard. Better not watch this video again.

  • looool :P

  • Stuart Murdoch never fails to kick some serious buns.....

  • When she said, "a special signal" I was like "hubba hubba!"

Stuart always gets the most beautiful girls to sing. Oh, they do have very nice voices!

  • nice tune but boring video....too much just staring forward......needs more fluidity

  • I Liiiiike this Song

  • great song, but too much talking in the beginnin, want to listen the song in replay :-)

but anyway, its still a great song

  • fantastik!

  • La chanson est entrainante.

    Très belle voix aussi.

Sans oublier les magnifiques yeux de la chanteuse !

  • the guy just looks like Stuart's alter ego

    the song is great

  • yeahhhh good music, nostalgie of 60's, i love the bass :)

  • Comment removed

  • This is the most beautiful song I've heard in a long, long time. Thank-you, Stuart. I hope one day I can write music as wonderful as this.

  • How is theres so many hot girls in this one band

  • Great, lovely, exciting, dreamy, hilarious, well done... this is the best B&S music since «Fold Your Hands Child»...

  • imm n loove

  • Jeopardy guy! haha

  • Is that Anna Friel? :D Anyway what a classic-feeling, dramatic sweeping song. Really is a beautiful song :)

  • Oh her vocals sound a bit Karen Carpenter-esque.

  • uuuuuuuuuuuuhhhhhhhhh and I'm spent.

  • How is it possible to get something so right?? Ahhh I am counting down the days to the soundtrack release

  • i hope stuart got his end away with at least one of those gin stealing babes

  • pure beauty

  • I bought the full subscription pack, finally some full B&S after all those years (well, partly B&S).

  • LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!! Cath you are a goddess!!!! xxx

  • I almost came too soon when Catherine said she give a "special signal".

No wonder Stuart's wife had to be at all the rehearsals and video shoots.

Ya think he pulled a Hef and auditioned them himself. Yeah!

  • I can't believe this only has 1,076 views, and about 50 are from me. This song makes me feel like everything is right in the world.

  • wow they look as good as they sound

  • Alex Klobouk looks a lot like Olga Kurylenko, which is no bad thing, but all three of them are gorgeous!

  • Love the voice and the music

  • Love it! Heard it on local radio this morning (Melbourne, Australia). I think it's a hit.
